Planning to write a James Bond novel

As you read in the title, I'm planning to write a James Bond novel, set in today's world.
Now, i know most attempts at this haven't been well received (cough Carte Blanche cough cough OHiMSS cough cough cough), so i'm willing to try not to mess it up.
Here's what i've done so far:
- Bond: For James himself, i decided to base him on Dalton's portrayal as he is the closest to the "true-to-the-books" version, in terms of appearance, i decided to have him look like a mix between Brosnan and Craig, like in this picture below:

- The Woman: If you read at least one of the original novels you'll know that Fleming always had the Bond Women have a distinctive physical feature and/or a tragic backstory (Domino has a leg shorter than the other, Honey Ryder was sexually assaulted).
So i found myself thinking about having the Bond Woman be one-armed, but i don't really know, is it going too far with it?

- The Villain: As for the villain, i want him to be like the literary Bond villains.
Like, i was thinking of the villain having Ichthyosis.

And that is pretty much it, keep in mind it's a very condensed version of what i've done and i might change some things with the pass of time.

UPDATE: I have rewritten the villain since i wanted him to have a twist.

Aleksandar Franjo was a refugee from the Syrian civil war who lost his family during the armed conflict.
After he escaped to the United States with a group of refugees, he changed his name and founded the Help The Needed Foundation in order to help and support the people of his nation.
he would eventually be kidnapped and brainwashed by a terrorist group known as русвај with the aim of using his foundation as a cover for the smuggling and sale of weapons.

Great promise, I'm interested in more.
I've been writing some Bond stories, in my spare time. I have some modern day origin stories for some of the iconic villains. Blofeld (with Irma Bunt as the leading woman). Goldfinger, and Alec Trevelyan. They're mostly just ideas for not, Bond might make an appearance at the end of Alec's story.
