Tom is better in a smaller venue; I saw him at The House of Blues in New Orleans and he was incredible. I saw Paul in the Superdome and he was incredible.

    McCartney.

I've seen Macca in concert on several occasions. ^:)^

@j_w_pepper. Historically McCartney's post-Beatle band "Wings" ended in 1981. By 1980, he had grown tired of the Wings "format" and indeed many think that his January 1980 drug bust in Japan was a subconscious attempt to not have to go through with another tour. And while I don't believe that he's ever directly spoken about the issue from this angle, many think that Lennon's December 1980 murder was the final nail. In short, he wanted to move on and work with other musicians on an album-by-album basis.

McCartney and Tom Jones' paths have crossed on a couple of occasions over the years. For example, originally Paul gave Tom a demo of The Long and Winding Road but his record label didn't want to release it as a single. Then, in 2012 Jones' covered (I Want To) Come Home - a song that Paul wrote for the Robert De Niro film EVERYBODY'S FINE. The song really connected for me emotionally back then as I dealt with my mother's illness.

1980's McCartney II album was released as a solo effort, and while Denny Laine did contribute to 1982's TUG OF WAR and 1983's PIPES OF PEACE albums, they were also considered solo projects. Interestingly, McCartney's current backing band has been with him since 2001.

I love all the thoughts and reasons here. As Tom was a friend of my favourite singer Elvis Presley I think he would deliver a great show. I have been blessed to see Sir Paul twice and treasure those memories. Always loves how he features a rocking version of LALD.

Would you rather catch Duran Duran in concert OR Adele?

Different generational talents here. As a teen in the 80's I can attest to how big Duran Duran was and how much radio and video play their Bond song got. It was a big part of the marketing for the movie. Too bad the quality of the song wasn't matched by the movie.

    OR

Adele a songstress with a wonderful and powerful voice. I have seen clips of her concert and it would appear that she enthralls audiences. I'm guessing the Bond song SF would get be a highlight of the event.

Who are you going to watch perform live?

Adele, easily. Then again I tend to prefer voice singers.

No contest, Duran Duran; I’m a fan and have seen them a half a dozen times. It’s always a great show.

Duran Duran. The thing is, Adele has made some fantastic, gripping songs, and her voice is amazing, specific and very beautiful. Sadly though, her songs often succumb to their own drama, leaving me listening to just a pile of whining. So, Adele, if i can decide the songs she's singing. If not, Duran Duran.

Quite frankly, neither. I never caught on to Duran Duran in the 80s, having basically lost interest in (new) pop music for the entire decade, and didn't make up for that later (unlike with, say, Sting and Police). As for Adele, I don't even think she's a good singer, i.e. doesn't have a beautiful or in any way special voice at all. Being a lover of SF the movie, I'd rate her theme as one of the low points of it.
