Comedy

stagstag In the thick of it!
I'm a big fan of British sitcoms (almost exclusively classic ones) and have a vast collection of DVD box sets; everything from Tony Hancock onwards. A great recent hidden gem is 'Detectorists', a very gentle series starring Rachael Stirling (Diana Rigg's daughter). There are a couple which are definitely out of my age bracket but 'People Just Do Nothing' and 'This Country' are fine examples of mockumentaries.

I was just wondering what situation comedies you enjoyed in your youth, or enjoy today?

Carla Lane Sitcoms were popular in my youth, Bread was a lot of fun.

Fawlty Towers is the cream of the crop. Only Fools and Horses, Red Dwarf and Allo Allo were very good.

It's rare I watch modern Sitcoms, its cliche though they really don't make them like they used to.
