In that case, I nominate Patrick Doyle.

The only issue I have @002 is that most of these composers are small-time. I'm sure they're nowhere near Eon's radar.

EDIT: Doctor Who's, perhaps. Thats a very catchy beat, a near instant hit with the fans, I believe, as well.

    Joe Hisaishi

@Shark : Sir, I bow for thee. Hisaishi is a top quality composer. All, and I mean all of his work for Ghibli makes me cry tears, either of sadness or of joy. Mononoke Hime, Spirited Away, Castle In The Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicäa, Ponyo... These musical marvels offer a transcending experience. Did you ever see the concert he gave in Budokan? When I saw that concert, I wept like a child.

The question, however, is whether he could master a Bond score. For those warm, Barryesque suites while we travel for example, no doubt. But action? I don't think his style could work that well for a Bond film. Perhaps that's where Kenji Kawai could and should step in. ;-) What say you?

And as for a replacement for Arnold... How about Thomas Newman? :D

I'd love to hear what Hans Zimmer would do with a Bond track. He can handle action, uppity/joyful, exciting, and sad music all the same.
