    Lulu's TMWTGG is campy and silly, but at least it's memorably so. Barry's music is typically rousing and the double-entendres in Don Black's lyrics are so crass they're rather funny. Poor Lulu is trying hard to be Shirley Bassey and sounds like a chew-toy--the result is unforgettable camp, and that's superior to mere badness. So no Klebbie for TMWTGG.

    As @BeatlesSansEarmuffs astutely points out, Madonna's song is good torture music. Plus at least it's memorable in its badness, so no Klebbie.

    Crow's TND is so bland and forgettable I can't even remember it. Smith's "Writing on the Wall" is so whiny and mushy I prefer not to remember it. White and Keys' "Another Way to Die" must have been produced by a computer. Its generic title, faux-toughness, stupid lyrics, and posturing attitude net the Klebbie, despite the tough competition.

    As for FYEO, I think it's one of the better "soft" themes (better than "All Time High") and I think Conti's FYEO score is very good and livelier than the preceding and succeeding Barry scores.

    I'd also suggest that as bad as Madonna's DAD is (and it's pretty bad) it is at least appropriate for its placement in this particular film: while Bond is being tortured by the North Koreans, Madge is torturing the audience.

    For me Madonna’s “song” works better as a stand-alone tune than I song to kick-off the movie. And I actually liked her "Bond" music video for it, but then again, I’m a fan of Madge. Lulu’s TMWTGG is a pale attempt to match Macca’s LALD. The song itself, however, doesn’t over stay its’ welcome, and when combined with Binder’s title sequence works as “parody-porn.” Crow's TND is somewhat bland, but OK.

    Tough choices here, but for me it’s between AWTD and TWOTW, with my final vote going to Sam Smith’s TWOTW.

    As I've noted above, Madonna's terrible song is ameliorated somewhat by its placement in the context of the film. Until we see the film itself we won't really know if that's the case here, will we? But if you prefer to form an opinion based on incomplete evidence, go ahead & knock yourself out...

    AWTD - no contest! I despise that sorry excuse for a song, let alone a Bond theme.
    DAD follows not far behind - didn’t imagine anything could be worse until AWTD arrived.
    TND is actually a good song ruined by a terrible singer.
    WOTW - kinda grows on you after a couple of listens, but still pretty bad.
    TMWTGG - lyrically laughable but musically still miles better than the others on that list. Admittedly, I prefer the slower instrumental version on the soundtrack which is vintage Barry.

    this is such a piece of crap which is totally surprising when you consider the talent involved in this song.

    Agree with you on TMWTGG, love that it's jam-packed with fun lyricism, even if it's totally silly. Very memorable song.

    It's funny, it's easy for me to see why people hate AWTD but I still enjoy it a lot.

    Well the writing's on the wall for 'Writings on the Wall' for me. It's so pedestrian and unimaginative (although not quite as much as NTTD which manages to combine WOTW and Skyfall and manages to come up with something utterly inoffensive but completely bland as a result). It's the only one I actively hate and I'd love it if the Spectre disc had come with an option to play the Radiohead song on an alternate track.

    Of the others, Die Another Day is never going to be my favourite but it is at least original and has a bit of violence about it; Tomorrow Never Dies is a perfectly decent song and is more original than Surrender; Golden Gun isn't a good song at all, but at least turns into a lovely tune in the score; Another Way To Die is great and is the only real rock Bond song for my money- just listen to that drumming.

    Yes, Writings on the Wall for me as well, for all the reasons @mtm said, and then some.

    PS: I only disagree about Surrender, I absolutely love it, always have. Driving around listening to it is an absolute joy :)

Kind of like if they picked a Connery impressionist to play Bond: keep one eye on the sixties to some extent but you've got to move with the times too.

    One final note on WOTW is that it's hard not to feel hugely cheated by it as well- that lush orchestral opening promises so much and then completely disappears to be replaced by self indulgent song-writing with overlong verses. It's horrid.
    Give me Another Way To Die any day of the week. I love the insistent and brassy rhythm of the chorus.

    I don't really have any strong opinions on it. It's not terribly interesting to me. Why?

    Arnold said it wasn't an unused song for QoS but just developed at a later point from an idea he used in the score to it. I've got no reason to disbelieve him as he was pretty open on his song idea for DAD not being used.

    I actively enjoy every title song, with the exception of Another Way to Die, which I use to really dislike, and now it's just kind of eh, fine.
    But still the Klebbie goes to AWTD

    Yeah I'd take AWTD over that. I don't hate it or anything but there isn't much good about No Good About Goodbye, I tend to think.
    Did you spot it has the QoS motif quite heavily featured in it?

    Shirley has an unbelievable voice IMO, which for me would be the one enduring good thing about NGAG and her other songs. But fair enough if it's not your cup of tea.

    It’s quite a voice but not always the most subtle. Give me Dionne Warwick’s version of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang any day, for example.

    Shirley is after all the quintessential Bond song performer, she has a few classics that always make me think from which movie is that song. History repeating should have been used in a 007 movie.
    She is the classic among the performers.

    I quite like Lulu's and Madonna's title songs, contrary to popular consensus.

    Now that I think of it, there is only one song in all Bond, including additional songs and video game songs, that I actively dislike: Sam Smith's endless whining in Writing's on the Wall.

    Nothing could have elevated SP a complete rewrite of the script and a different director might help, blaming the title-song is like blaming Trump for being a human, we both know that is not right.
