Risico: A Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace fan edit

This is a project that has intrigued me for a while. I've started a bit of it and plan on working with it on and off through the summer.

Concept: The merging of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace into a single, continuous film. Not simply sticking the beginning of Quantum at the end of CR, but cutting between them to show Bond's past, present, and future.

What to expect:
-No title sequence. This is intended to set this film apart from the rest in the Bond canon. This isn't your dad's Bond film.
-Less M. She intrudes on events way too often in QOS and mothers too much in CR.
-Shorter action sequences, primarily in CR. QOS has short, abrupt sequences down to a science, but CR's set pieces drag on for too long. An unwelcome holdover from the Brosnan era.
-Bond is no longer a rookie agent

I'll post work in progress clips as time goes on.

    Wow, I'm very excited to see this Tubes.

    Any idea what the running time should be? As it stands both together would equal four hours and ten minutes. Hopefully something nearer to three and a half hours would be better. Casino Royale was far too long as it was anyway, in my opinion.

    By itself, CR runs at 2 hours and QOS at 90 minutes. So, three and a half hours shouldn't be a major problem to hit.

    OK, that's good to know. I get the feeling the film you create Tubes, will be much better than what we were given over a two year period.

    I'm most intrigued, Tubes. I've seen some fan edits before, most notably an Episode I one, and very often they rocked. Are you using Final Cut Pro?

    Yes. And maybe a bit of Soundtrack Pro, depending on how easy it is to mix the surround channels in.

    Wow, this should be good. QoS would basically be the third act in your edit, I suppose?

    @DarthDimi both films will be integrated with each other but I'd guess the film still end near to where Quantum Of Solace did.

    You could tell the story from QoS' point of view and use flashbacks to CR explaining what previously happened. It'd be one hell of a task but the outcome could be awesome!

    I had this idea floating in my head for a very long time. Sadly, I didn't have the technical know-how or the time to do it.

    I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

    Wow, so you are editing those two movies into one full length movie. Does i get it right?

    @MrBond I believe that is the plan but some material will be used in flashback type of way.

    When I see the finished result I bet I'll say: that's what EON should have done.

    Sounds really good, if this is still going on, how far into the progress of making it are you Tubes? And how will we be able to view the final piece? (e.g over youtube?) :')
    Interesting idea too.

    I'd guess @Tubes will make it available in many different formats if past videos are anything to go by. To take that as gospel though, I wouldn't want to put words into his mouth.
