I didn't know this. That's interesting. Also don't forget that SPECTRE had some major competition since many blockbusters came out in 2015 (new Jurassic Park movie and new Star Wars movie and I think a new Avengers movie as well?). As far as I remember The Dark Knight Rises was the only big blockbuster aside from Skyfall? I can't remember another.

The Avengers came out in 2012 as well, which was the highest grossing film of the year, with Skyfall placed at #2.

Spectre went up against the peanuts movie and I remember at the time was a bit lower opening weekend than expected

Hobbit grossed a billion as well that year. 2012 was the first time 4 films grossed over a Billion.

Back when a billion dollars was so new and a rarity. Relatively it still is, but so many more have hit that milestone since then.

True SF was the 13th film to crossed 1 billion mark. Now 44 films have grossed that include the new joker film.

Well, if Bond 25 is as woke as they say it is, I think we can definitely rule it out from joined that list. People don't like to be preached at when they are looking for a fun time at the movies. Its the main reason ghistbusters and all those movies failed. People who have watched Bond for decades will be put off if Bond takes a backseat to a "I am woman hear me roar" message shoved in.

If the opposite were happening, you’d accuse NTTD of being tone-deaf. Anything for a spout of negativity.

The only thing preachy about Ghostbusters was "ghouls are bad", which is a fairly reasonable statement I would say.

I heard Bond 25 is so woke that Bond gets a vasectomy for his wife, joins Greenpeace, supports Black Lives Matter, declares socialism as the best thing for the world, that he’s a homosexual, declared himself a transgendered woman, decides to worship satan, says the United States should give up the second amendment, and just about any other thing that would rile up the anti-SJW crowd running YouTube channels.

Just returned from a screening of Knives Out" followed by a Q & A with Craig. Nothing on NTTD but the chemistry between Daniel and Ana was terrific in KO. If they can bring this to NTTD we are in great shape.

Trevorrow and Connelly will receive a story credit because JJ kept some minimal story elements and ideas from their previous work, like the Sith troopers etc etc.

If Hodge will receive a credit it will be for the very same reason. But I find it unlikely, just like Morgan didn't received a credit for SF.

Lol then how did Captain Marvel did so well we all know it's not because Marvel studios because there are other films which didn't, i don't like that film one bit but isn't there was a lot feminist wave going through that time and a lot of people saying bad things about the actress at first. I still think NTTD can easily grossed a Billion, bond has always been way ahead of other's and when he is at his best well I don't need to draw you a picture.

There's no reason why NTTD cant have a little bit of everything and still be popular and fun. I've never understood the reason to be negative to a film that hasn't been released yet. Even some films that critics have panned have been enjoyable. I prefer to make my own mind up.
When it comes to Bond, they rarely let me down. It's generally after several views that I make a more concrete verdict on the film.
However DAD and QOS were films that at the time, gave me a sour taste. However over time both have increased in popularity for me.
If NTTD is a mess with lots of anti-Bond type scenarios and dialogue, I'll be the first too say how unhappy I am with the direction.
But not before I've seen NTTD.

"They". Who is "they"? Forum commentators? Tabloid Journalists? Disgruntled Fan Boy Whisperers? Naturally the films female cast are going to say their roles are strong - as any good written part in any production should be. Naturally a franchise that has been going for decades should move somewhat slightly with the times - as dictates the need to stay relevant. It occurs to me it's posters such as yourself that are aggressively pushing the narrative that this is a "woke" film. So much so that even if the film had any form of woken message it surely would be soundly asleep - in comparison to the exhausting, potentially erroneous, expectations that the vocally visceral minority on here seem to possess. Fact is we don't know what we don't know. If kite surfing a CGI tsnumai didn't put fans such as myself off the franchise, I very much doubt the unfounded rumours of "women roaring" will :/

I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m not going to sit here and gripe that a trailer hasn’t come yet, but you’d at least think since this is most definitely going to be Craig’s last Bond movie, the marketing for this film would amp up a bit.

The distance beetween first trailer and release date is now way lower for Bond 25 than for either SP or SF.

You mean you’re not on board with the idea that NTTD is a poorly marketed, three hour woke epic? If you try really, really hard, perhaps smoke crack, you too might be able to convince yourself, mate.

It would be interesting to see a "three hour woke epic" Bond film just to see the reactions online.

There’d be a ‘Jonestown’ led by that Aussie YouTuber who looks like a Prometheus Engineer.

Krazy Kajeevies content acts as a catalogue for the calamitous mishaps which befalls the production. He has gained a following from the dejected and alienated fan community who think that Bond should remain a misogynistic white straight male.

This is all well and good as long as he stays true to the character.

Let's be honest, NTTD will be such a flop that EON will have to pay the audience to go and watch it.

I heard that Fukunaga wants his name removed and replaced by "Alan Smithee". That's how big a flop it's going to be.
