Best of Bond: All Films Ranked

Over the last couple of months, I watched all of the Bond films. Here are my top five.

1. The Living Daylights
2. From Russia with Love
3. The Spy Who Loved Me
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. Casino Royale

Honorable Mention: On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This movie should be top 5, easily, but the unfortunate decision to remain true to the book makes for an ill-advised and boring middle act, completely killing any momentum and ignoring the obvious focus on Bond's relationship with Tracy. Granted, the act does develop Savals' Bloefeld, who is brilliant, but it can't outweigh 30 minutes of aimless tedium. I still recommend it, highly, but it lacks the consistency of many other 007 films.

Beyond these, plenty more are well worth watching, I think. I even enjoyed the often maligned Brosnan films, far moreso than I expected. Here's the full list, with poorly thought-through comments if you click the "Read Notes" button to the right of the list title.
