From September to November 4, 2018, Vaux-le-Vicomte invites you to relive the most striking moments of the greatest movies in Cinema history filmed at the château!

The Seventh Art is an integral part of the history of Vaux-le-Vicomte. From La Folie des Grandeurs in 1971 to Marie-Antoinette in 2006, to say nothing of James Bond: Moonraker in 1979 or L’Homme au Masque de Fer in 1998, the château—built in 1656 by Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV’s Superintendent of Finance—has served as a décor for almost 70 films!

For this, the second edition of “Vaux-le-Vicomte fait son cinéma,” and as part of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the estate to the public, a range of interactive activities and exhibitions await only your presence.

An exhibition of posters, archival materials and objects from the shoot, and our homage to Roger Moore, who died in 2017, will allow visitors to plunge into the world of James Bond, thanks to the cooperation of the “James Bond Club – France” (first floor of the château).

The same helicopter from the 1979 film, a Bell 206, will be on display in the Cour d’honneur of the château.

The weekend of October 20 and 21, 2018, the members of the “James Bond Club – France” propose free guided visits to discover the very spots where shooting the film took place (inside and outside). (Places are limited; please sign up at the château.)
All weekend, the château is organizing a unique opportunity to meet the James Bond girls and the Drax girls from the film Moonraker! Visitors will be able to have a photograph taken with them or to get an autograph from Corinne Clery, Blanche Ravalec, Irka Bochenko, Chichinou Kaeppler, Beatrice Libert, Anne Lonnberg or Catherine Serre! (Charge not included in entrance fee.)

The château will also propose screenings of the film documenting the making of the film, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
