Quite incredible the microcosm of excellence that Fleming groups with as neighbours around the same time period.

His neighbour directly opposite was Sir Thomas Octave Murdoch Sopwith, CBE, Hon FRAeS an Aviation pioneer who's company built 18,000 British World War I aircraft for the allied forces, including 5747 of the Sopwith Camel single-seat fighter. He was 21 years older than Fleming.

Just further a long the road at 17 Dunraven Street, Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse "PG Woodhouse" lived, PG's novels were also turned in to films oddly and by coincidence MGM!.

Other residents included Eleanor Marx, (daughter of Karl Marx) and The US Embassy.

if you ever intend on visiting a 25 minutes walk away is Dukes Bar 35 St. James’s Place, SW1A 1NY. Fleming's local bar, it's still been kept to it's 30's Deco design and it is thought this is where the Martini shaken not stirred cocktail idea came from; Fleming's observation of Dukes.
