As always, Fay Dalton's illustrations are superb and show an original conception of Fleming separate from that of the Bond films. Her creepy OHMSS Blofeld is a great example of this.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but how do these editions differ from the “normal“ books? I understand that there is a beautiful and high quality hardcover. The story is the original combined with beautiful drawings? How many drawings are there for each chapter? Are there any other special features?

I agree but I still like the fact that her Piz Gloria is very much based on the film location.

As far as I understand, it's 7 illustrations total per book. The book quality is great, but if you look at the earlier pages the slip cases aren't as good quality. They seem collectible but I think the price is too steep

Fay Dalton’s artwork is the reason to buy these well made, (but not quite perfect) books... her work is worthy of Fleming. Can’t give higher praise than that. Now if you look at the artwork and don’t really care, than I would say it’s not worth the money.

I certainly plan to buy a copy of each of these. Some of the best illustrations I've seen. I hope they continue and finish the series, even the short story collections.

Thanks @w2bond for the reply. I hoped for more illustrations but must admit that some illustrations look very good (i.e. the one at the beach).

Thats their goal, they have repeatedly stated this.
It's just 4 more books to go anyway.
    2 years and we're done :)

Next one must be YOLT in March , then Goldene Gun in October and probably the short story collections in 2022.

Fay’s artwork is fantastic, I love her style.

I have been very lucky, because Folio bring out two books a year, so I receive one on my birthday and one at Christmas, courtesy of Mrs IGotABrudder

Artwork is excellent. I bought the LALD comic for Fay's artwork. I would love it as a poster

Nice, I didn't realize this was Fay as well. I have this but still haven't read through it.

I bought it for the cover art alone. But I'm impressed by the comic art and colouring too. Much better than the Casino Royale edition inside and out (Fay also did the CR cover)

I’m confused... isn’t this Kewber Baal art?

Cover is by Fay Dalton and comic artwork is by Kewber Baal. Both are excellent

The quality of the book is great too. Definitely recommend the LALD comic. CR is great too but not as fond of the comic artwork - more shadows and abstract, whereas LALD is more colourful and dynamic

Sorry W2bond, ‘The Pussy’ doesn’t understand what you mean by “But if you look at the earlier pages the slip cases aren’t as good quality”. Can you elaborate?
