    It's pretty unthinkable for CR not to have a top two. Shocking really... definitely one of the best acted scenes and an authentic portrayal of gambling.

    Well, I mean this is why we play the games after all. If there was an established ranking there wouldn't be any fun or point in playing. I guess the majority of the active participants in this game value other casino scene over the ones in CR.

    The scene where Le Chiffre busts Bond is brilliant on a few levels. At one level there is a human side of Bond exposed in a rare moment when his ego clouds his judgement in assessing Le Chiffre's ability to cross-examine his play style. This also forms the foundation for establishing Le Chiffre as a formidable villain along the likes of past greats like Goldfinger, Largo, etc., who actually never before displayed their own prowess in games like this (they did so in other ways). It's the crux of the psychological confrontation that forms the heart of CR. By the time Bond wins, he has re-exerted himself as the greater force in the contest. This is evident by the fact that Bond has the chip lead at that moment.

    Look, the other two scenes (and honestly the whole top 10 was stacked) are very good. I like them more as Bond scenes in general than as casino scenes. I don't really think they hold a candle to what they do for their respective films. Almost all of Bond's development in the film is directly tied to the events and results of the game. The other scenes are just flavor with minor plot point progression.

    Those are my final thoughts on it. It was still a fun game.

    The problem in Casino scenes in Bond films is that the gambling itself is usually pretty unexciting since we all know that Bond will win in the end, mostly because of pure luck. So I actually prefer the scenes where the gambling is not so much in the focus of the scene and does not go on too long.

    Therefore the DN scene is by far my favourite and DAF being my second favourite...

    A great game. I'll admit, authorising outcome as I thought Dr No was a surefire winner here. However, I have no problem with the Octopus's scene winning as I voted for it, mostly, all the way through, a great scene, worth winner and runner up.
