Happy to see Spectre getting a fair number of votes here.

Same here. The silent majority of those who like/respect SP make themselves heard.

SP has kept my #10 spot for a while, which is pretty solid. I just liked it was the most traditional of Craig's outings.

    12 POINTS: FRWL
    10 POINTS: OHMSS
    08 POINTS: TB
    07 POINTS: DN
    06 POINTS: LALD
    05 POINTS: YOLT
    04 POINTS: CR
    03 POINTS: TLD
    02 POINTS: LTK
    01 POINT: MR

That list will change time and again, except the top three which are equal for me.

The fact GE has not got into my top ten illustrates how good some of the films are (for different reasons).

Ok, this is going to be really tough for me since the list changes a lot and a lot of the places are tied but..I'll give 12 points to one of the top movies only cause it's underlooked (and cause it is one of my top movies sometimes being #1,2 or 3)

    12 POINTS: TWINE
    10 POINTS: OHMSS
    08 POINTS: CR
    07 POINTS: GF
    06 POINTS: SF
    05 POINTS: LTK
    04 POINTS: TLD
    03 POINTS: AVTAK
    02 POINTS: DAF
    01 POINTS: DN

Ok, this ended up being easier than expected....but still it's not that easy distincting the list.

edit: Ha..I'm seeing now some older posts that mention TWINE being among the last movies? Well..I hope I helped the movie haha. I seriously don't get why not many people rate the movie highly, i really like it.

@dragonsky. I think TWINE might be my favorite Broz film..
It's kind of cheesey, but that's probably why I like it.
Elektra Christmas and Cigar Girl not to mention Molly Warmflash might be the most colourful collection of campy Bond Girls in the entire series.
I love Marceau's OTT dramatics as Elektra and Richards has some memorable moments. Love the glimmer line she throws at Bond.
I've always liked the Parahawk scene. It truly does remind of OHMSS. When they start skiing I always flash back to Bond and Tracy on the slopes.

@Graves You are right. I don't much like the re-boot films, but that aside, I do think the team of Broc and Saltz put out a string of high octane, uber entertaining Bond films , that are tough to beat and TSWLM is pure Bondian spectacle of the highest order.
But I am really quite good with all of the first 20 films, its just that the earliest one are my faves.
And I've even come to appreciate Craig as Bond, especially after his Connery worthy (highest praise that can be bestowed upon a Bond actor btw) work in SP. I've come to realize its the movie's directors and misc filmmakers that he's been saddled with , that I don't much like. I'm talking bout you, Haggis, Forster, Mendes, Logan...

  • I don't think I saw CR67 or NSNA get any votes so it's clear which EON film is last...

Doing these polls is always a tough one for me as I really tend to group them in either top, middle or bottom tiers rather than in any specific order. But as @Gustuv has put out the call I'll try my best.

Thanks a lot for the votes @stag and @bondsum ;-). We have hit the mark of 47 voters already. Striking thing, is the fact that the last 5 voters aren't exactly fans of the 8 most recent Bond films (the ones from Brosnan and Craig) :-). Overall, it's interesting to see that the love for Moore is completely...gone :-/ ?

@Gustav_Graves apart from the diabolical DAD I've never seen a Brosnan 007 film - controversial perhaps but I could not abide him as 007 hence you will notice he or his films won't feature in any of my rankings

I think you should give them a go,stag, none of them are as bad as DAD.

GE is a very good film, and TND is a fun romp with a great soundtrack and score..

That's not controversial in the slightest. No Bond actor has so few defenders over here than Brosnan.

Though DAD is admittedly terrible in places, you should at least give GE a shot. If you enjoy that one, TND won't harm you either. TWINE is almost as despised as DAD, but it has its defenders, including myself.

If we solely look at the portrayal of the Bond character by Pierce Brosnan, "TWINE" is absolutely Brosnan's best Bond flick. His portrayal of Bond in that film is sensitive, emotional. A prelude to Daniel Craig's way deeper and complex portrayal of the role.

The only time I want Bond to be "sensitive" is when Tracy is mentioned, which is rarely.

very rare...only 3 time I think since OHMSS : TSWLM,FYEO and LTK....although with the Craig films he wouldn't have met her yet in theory...

I keep telling myself I will watch Brosnan but cannot bring myself to endure it. If I pluck up courage enough I will indeed take your advice & check out GE or TND. In all honesty I did try to watch one of the films when it was shown on TV a few weeks ago but switched off shorty after the PTS. I can't remember which one it was but Bond & another agent had broken into a Soviet military facility of some description.

As a Bond fan, I think it's necessary to experience all the EON movies, on principle alone. Give them a go, and if you don't take to them well, never see them again, but as a fan I feel they are all required viewing to get a full picture of how the films have developed throughout the years and the time periods that influenced them during their production and the times that they influenced all the same at their release.
