black blofeld???

ok, we've been through the discussion of a black bond, we already have a black felix lieter, it looks like we're gonna get a black moneypenny for bond 23. So i was thinking about other staple characters in the bond series and i thought of this, if blofeld were to return, what if he was black???

    I was thinking the same thing....URGH! First of all, we don't have confirmation of Naomie Harris as Moneypenny so let's wait on that. Second, what is with all this Blofeld-mania lately? Doesn't anyone realize they killed what was left of him in FYEO? I'd rather see a new criminal mastermind rather than another retread thank you very much. Color of said mastermind? Don't care, as long as he can act.

    Let me get this straight, Moneypenny to return after being omitted for the last two entries and colored?

    Said it before, I don't really have an issue with a persons skin, but this just doesn't sit right for a 007 picture

    When we had a black Leiter for the first time in Royale, I didn't give it much thought, Leiter is not really a pivotal character in any Bond film, and I guess I didn't take much exception to this, but we're talking about more relevant characters of the franchise and playing about with them from which has remained consistant from day one

    Lets' keep it simple so this doesn't need to run and run


    NO to Black Bond
    NO to Black Moneypenny
    NO to Black Blofelds, Blofelds cats, M, Q, or Bonds fingernails

    It's hard not appear a little racist with these color debates but I merely want Bond kept as it should be, I hope this black Moneypenny idea never sees the light of day

    Exactly, @doubleoego. Why do we need all these threads debating the color of these characters? Yes, I know some of you think there will be a time where this will be a current issue in the Bond universe, but I don't. I find it very disconcerting to see multiple threads on this topic when one thread would have sufficed. It is even more unnerving that I, a blatant man who sees only equality in humans, to be called racist on this site. It isn't enough that Fleming intended Bond to be white. It isn't enough that I don't want one of my cinematic heroes to change from the way he's been for 50 years. Come on. Anyone who thinks someone is racist for reasons like these needs to step back and look themselves over. As for these types of threads, I'm done being apart of them.

    changing the race of said characters i could really care less about - this current rebooted timeline of Bond doesnt follow the same continuity as the films from Dr No thru Die Another Day... so if they decide they want a Black M, Moneypenny, Minister Of Defense, - who cares, as long as they can act and do their role well, then I have nothing against it...... i've long said that if they continued the original films continuity, that i would've loved to see Colin Salmon step in as the new M, once Dench retired from it - much in the way Robert Brown stepped in when the late Bernard Lee passed on..

    The only character who needs no ethnicity change is Bond - THAT is the argument I really get tired of hearing - is that Bond NEEDS to be black...... no... really, he doesn't...... and the arugment for one is always based on political correctness, not on the acting talent of an individual actor.

    i dont think its racist to not want bond to be black, i understand why alot of you would want him to stay white. But think about it, none of the bonds REALLY look the same do they, thats why i dont think its such an issue, but its my own opinion and you all have yours.

    As for blofeld, it doesnt matter if he died in FYEO, casino royale rebooted the franchise. Saying "how can blofeld still be alive" is like saying "how can bond only just be getting his licence to kill" in casino royale.

    Bond doesnt NEED to be black at all and im entirely against casting a black bond for the sake of it but i think if a talented actor happens to be black then fine.

    Salmon would make a great M actually, either him or colin firth.

    if naomi harris does become moneypenny then meh, i dont really care. I think she could do a decent job and i dont care if she's black, but I 'd much rather they just bought back samantha bond. Just like i want john cleese (or simon pegg) as Q.

    they never complained about live and let die did they??? then again it was the 70s and the PC squad barely existed. im not saying he should be black, just wondering how people would react if blofeld were to return being played by a black actor.

    Agreed! Although if Moneypenny ends up being black then whatever, but I would prefer her to stay white.

    Really I don't care if Blofeld is black or not, I just don't want him to come back! As for M being black, I would be okay with it but it doesn't need to happen. A black Q would be okay with but would also prefer him to stay white.

    NO to Black Blofeld cats or Bonds fingernails
    Now that's just being racist!

    Personally, I'd have a bigger problem with Blofeld returning to the series and his character and personality being fudged and him generally being poorly - say, lightly - delivered, than him being black or whatever his skin tone might be.

    Same goes for Moneypenny and, indeed, did when Felix returned in CR...

    John Logan's comment on "Bond should always fight Blofeld" has been taken far too seriously by some and led to this recent Blofeld-mania.

    Good idea imo because since Bonds fabbled in some other genres before- see my other thread oh wait you cant any more even tho it had good comments in it. Such as blaxpoiltation, sci fi, kung fu films etc I think a black Blofeld would help freshen up the charecter and universe while making him gritty as well and if we go back to Fleming his Blofeld as shown in OHMSS the film was a well smooth international gangster so thats why my vote goes to Idris Elba from the Wire. It suits Craigs Flemingesqe Bond to a tee in my opinion. Does any one else want to see Blofeld going forward.
