Bond hasn't what it takes to work for the SIS

    I've always thought that James Bond was basically a lousy spy. The articles merely confirmed my suspicions.

    I think the second link is a little disengenuous. The article refers to intelligence gathering, which routine task of the Security Services.

    Bond is different, he's an agent provocateur. Essentially a wartime hangover - a latter day SOE operative. His job is to infiltrate bad guys, then disrupt and prevent the threat to British interests. Similar to undercover police, but on an international more elite basis.

    Regarding not killing people - have these people never heard of drones?
