I share many of his same opinions. I'm a little younger than Mr Capaldi ( but still
gorgeously Handsome ) and Like him, I'm a huge Jon Pertwee Dr Who Fan. I grew
up with him as the Dr, and Capaldi even based his costume on Pertwee's .
For Me personally part of the charm of the classic series is the lack of budget.
They did some amazing stuff on very little money.
I'm so happy that all the classic episodes are available on BritBox it's great to go
back and re-visit them, and I have the modern era on downloads from Amazon and
Google movies along with all seasons of Torchwood I even own the
two Peter Cushing movies. So I think I could be called a fan :)
I wonder if the BBC will consider giving the show a rest, or if they've already got someone lined up?
Yeah I don't think she's great at all but I would have been happy to watch her in a series written by someone else. I'm really glad he's going though.
I think they've already pre-sold at least a couple of more series around the world, so I think they're likely to keep on.
Daily Mail: Peter Capaldi offers words of support for Jodie Whittaker amid Doctor Who departure.
I must admit, the last episode of his final series was the last good DW episode for my money. In some ways the perfect finale for the whole series.
I tried watching Jodie for several episodes but feel she never really fitted the role. She lacks ( admittedly only in my opinion ) that odd quirkiness, that all the other actors had
in playing the role. You only have to watch Capaldi, Tennant and Smith, in a short time they owned the role but Whittaker never did.
She is quite charming and has personality, which is something. I'd like to have seen her under a better writer.
Radio Times: Mark Bonnar wants his Doctor Who villain The Eleven to face Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor.
I'm very much looking forward to that.
Radio Times: Twelfth Doctor joins Doctor Who Big Finish adventure as Peter Capaldi recast.
They've had someone else playing him for a while, haven't they?
There are quite a few early ones on Spotify to listen to for free if you want to give them a try:
I'd definitely recommend Foe From The Future if you're a Tom Baker fan:
5 best speeches from the Dr
Radio Times: Michael Sheen voted Doctor Who fans' favourite to replace Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor.
Fantastic! infinitely more appealing than Jodies next season.
