    A very good and insightful article. I have to say that I always see the titles sequence as a small mini movie in its own right. Titles are a thing that's very often pushed to the back of the movies these days, acting as a prosaic reference for movie buffs and production professionals. Bond, to its credit has always kept the titles as an integral part of the movie experience, choosing instead to lavish a goodly part of the movie budget on this sequence. Long may this continue.

    It's a bit exaggerated, but B to Z movies mogul Jess Franco once said there was more cinematic art in the credits of DN than on all the work of Ingmar Bergman (I actually happen to like some Bergman films, eh!).
