If there has been one constant for most of our lives, it the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Today Queen Elizabeth II passed Queen Victoria as Britain's longest reigning monarch.

    An utter constant for James Bond, both literary and film, too. On *His* Majesty's Secret Service doesn't have quite the same ring to it. The first Bond film without Elizabeth II's portrait popping up somewhere will be a sadly notable one.

    X_X Good Heavens I almost had a heart attack just now. I only saw the words "Today Queen Elizabeth II passed"....and my blood pressure went into the cellar.
    How can you :)) rephrase that immediately :))

    I'm so glad the sentence does continue very differently than I just thought...
