    That turned out to be a close thing. I do believe that the Volcano Lair is a worthy winner.

    Dr. Nos lair in the top 3 was a pleasant surprise. The love for the SPECTRE meeting room and Piz Gloria bodes well for SP.

    Not really too much to choose between the top two but the sheer scale and invention of the YOLT volcano set justs pips it for me.

    Probably the only one of the top 5 that wouldn't make mine is Dr. No. As others said, no idea how Drax's Space Station finished below the likes of St. Cyril's and Maiden's Tower.

    Clear though from this that none of the Craig-era sets have made much of an impression, hopeful that can be addressed in SP.

    I get the DAD hate but even the set design? IMO quite impressive both techinally and artistically. Nowhere near the volcano set which is clearly the deserved winner.

    Too many people have too much prejudice against DAD. I don't get it.
    DAD was received with standing ovations at the cinemas, was by far the most successful up to that point.
    DAD is the only Bond movie I saw at the cinema where people repeatedly applauded during the movie and even stood up of excitement. I've seen all Bond movies in the cinema since OP.
    Everyone in my surroundings still has DAD in their Top 5. Only last weekend when Bond came up as a topic, practically everybody (a dozen people in my age-range) spontaneously mentioned DAD, GE, CR and TLD as their favourites. SF, MR and GF were the other 3 that got mentioned a lot too.

    You will not find that many DAD lovers on the fan forum. DAD might have been fun when it came out, but there are too many moments that had me groaning in despair (ridiculous special effects, horrible dialogue, too much unbelievable OTT stuff). The ice palace for example looked entirely fake to me, hence it got kicked out quickly.

    I don't think it matters what the order of the lower half of the ranking is. If the sets are uninspired and lacking in the wow factor, their swift elimination from the game is entirely justified, regardless of which goes first, second and so forth.

    Apart from the Space Station, of course. I'm still mind-boggled about that.

    On this particular game, however, I felt DAD's Ice Place didn't deserve last place. Two notable sets, from MR, were Drax's Space Station and the Amazon Launch Pad - I felt they could have been higher.

    I think the tarantula room should have been higher. It looks freaking awesome. The set itself with its proportions, the colors, the shadowplay. With the voice of Blofeld added and the superb acting of Dawson, everything gets enhanced to the extreme. Like something out of a horror movie.
