Bond becoming a tv series?

Reading some of the Young Bond novels I realized that they had a huge potential to become a BBC/PBS tv series..
I know they talked about turning them into a film series at one point and they were shot down, but honestly with someone decent actors they could totally turn it into a serious tv series. I would say that the first two seasons revolve around Higson's book series and then after that they go into Bond's years of military service/training and being approached to work for MI6.
