The ultimate Bond collectable!!
Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary James Bond film Goldfinger, this 1:3 scale replica of the DB5 is plated in 24 karat gold and signed by Sir Ken Adam, who designed the movie prop. Created by Propshop at Pinewood Studios, the model comes complete with radio-controlled machine guns, bulletproof shield and rotating license plates.
After registering interest from some 19,000 viewers from 129 countries, Christie's sold the model online for £55,000 ($90k) to Mr. Robert Tyrrell, an English farmer and Bond fan. Propshop are now producing a limited edition Aston Martin DB5 1/3 scale model, as featured in Skyfall. The model, painted in silver birch, has functioning gadgets including remote controlled machine guns, an operational bullet proof shield, revolving number plates, gear stick with ejector button and removable ejector seat roof panel. The model is displayed on a rolling road in a purpose built case, designed by Globe-Trotter. Also included is a documentary showing how Propshop created the model, a certificate of provenance signed by Aston Martin, EON Productions and Propshop, a limited edition hardback brochure and Skyfall DVD.
Only 100 models will be produced, each costing £28,000 (excl. VAT). Propshop are taking orders for Christmas 2014, so start buying your lottery tickets folks!!
