OHMSS REMAKE DIRECTED BY CHRIS NOLAN

    I know it's generally frowned upon to suggest that a Bond film should be remade, particularly one of the classics, but I couldn't resist dreaming of this combination but time starring a proper actor as Bond ie Dan Craig. Nolan has repeatedly expressed his admiration for the original and Inception clearly owes a debt to it in the snowbound scenes towards the climax. Imagine what he could do with this or are we best to let him to come up with something completely new when he's inevitably offered the director's gig for Bond 24 or beyond assuming Sam Mendes may not want to return due to other commitments. Another plus would be acertain bald headed villain could return and Nolan would bring a great new interpretation to the role. (Sir Michael Caine anyone seeing as he's worked with CN on several films now?)

    No Bond film should be remade. End of. At least that's how I see it. I'd love a Nolan Bond film but they should let him think up his own original story for it.

    Its nearly as bonkers an idea as letting Tarantino near Bond?

    I'm against a remake of any of the films but why exactly would Nolan and Tarantino be bad choices?

    I, too, do not want a true remake. But I do want Nolan to direct a Bond film in the future. I rather hope Mendes does a smashing job with Skyfall and then does one more, then after than Nolan. I say use elements from the novels, especially bits and pieces that have not been done yet; and maybe the flavor from certain past films, but not a remake of a film. Nolan can work with fresh materials, indeed he is a good writer himself. He would probably do an awesome job directing a Bond movie.

    The movie OHMSS is near perfect so why on earth would you want a remake? Also I can never see this happening with the Bond series nor would want to.

    I think Nolan would be a good choice to direct a Bond film but it should be an original movie with an original new story.

    I agree with most people here that doing a remake is a poor idea, but if their is a wrighter-director who should bring back Blofeld, it's Nolan for me all the way. I really hope he gets his hands on the franchise and brings back the grandiose villian universe of SPECTER and Blofeld, and seeing how hes done such a good job with Batman making that universe believable, he'll make Blofeld seem real an beleivable too!

    I was going to say yes only to get Tracy the proper revenge she deserves, but I don't think it would even work in that spectrum since Craig has already done a revenge film. Too many good performances to replace as well.

    NO Bond film should be remade....

    If the producers wanted to go down that road Live & Let Die would of been remade after Casino Royale.

    And I think MGW said himself that remakes are a bad idea.

    But they did just that in 1983 with Never Say Never Again, even though that was an unofficial Bond release, but for the benefit of the official series, no Bond film should ever be duplicated and the general consensus seems that this Nolan should not be allowed anywhere near a Bond project. On Her Majestys Secret Service is a fine piece of work, a classic to some, and should never be re-attempted, they should just leave it be, I hope this idea never sees the light of day really

    The thing is I'd love him to do this Bond film but not with DC. He's sort of done that with Vesper....maybe they should have rebooted with OHMSS.

    I would have loved that and made his emotional journey and mistakes (FOR ME) more logical.

    He of course would have been a 00 already but his downturn and then up lift from QofS to SKYFALL more of a trilogy story.

    We could have been introduced to Javier Bardem's character in OHMSS with Bond finishing him off in Skyfall.

    Well Memento was quite an emotional story, and his two batman movies really do humanize the charecter.

    No, they (EON) did not do that, it was a bitter Kevin McClory still greedily looking for millions he didn't legally or artistically deserve and a competing studio looking to cash in on the Bond name and the nostalgia of Sir Sean playing "James Bond" once again as the coyly named title suggests. That is absolutely all that abortion has in common with the Bond legacy, and all the movie truly turns out to be is a shining example of why Bond movies should never be remade.

    Whilst i think that Chris Nolan would be an excellent choice as director, Inception alone demonstrated he could deal with complex plots, character development and action, there is no need to remake any of the past films as the inevitable comparisons to the original would be tooo much for any of us to live through.

    I second that! No remakes full stop. If Nolan directs a Bond in the future? It will be a New adventure as it should be.

    Even though some Bond films feel like/do contain segments that were 'remade' or taken from other Bond films, NO BOND FILM should EVER BE FULLY REMADE. Ever.

    I don't know they've remade Thunderball - although a different production company - it's still a remake.

    I would have welcomed OHMSS remake with DC but I feel they've done that with the CR storyline.

    That was all about the arguments between McClory and the Bond producers above everything else though? It was a remake which i do have but the original is better.

The man, Cobb, now has his thoughts intruded upon by her, and it conflicts with his work and makes him question his own reality after he uses her totem.     Have you seen any Nolan films, mate? That is some sad stuff.

    Memento was more a thriller with a gimmick, Inception was in the end a powerhouse of CGI. Both managed to hide its emotional content very well. It was more matter over content in the end. EVen his Insomnia is so-so, I do prefer the original better.

    I do like "The Prestige" which was mostly a conflict between men and in the end about a conflict inside a man. Bale and Caine are both in greater form than in both Batman movies so far.

    All imho.
