  • That is one fine looking mug!
  • Its like bonus Avengers, much like the one-off Return of the Man From Uncle: The 15 Years Later Affair (1983) which also featured MacNee as the new Head of Uncle.
  • I don't think Vaughn would have been a good Bond. He's not quite big enough. But it's moot really. Vaughn is quintessential Solo. He created Solo, as Connery created screen Bond and MacNee defined Steed. The three are legend. Giants of the genre.
  • @bondjames Thanks ! I hadn't drilled down, on what's being offered yet Too bad, as I'd like to get all three of those blu-rays that @BondJasonBond006 posted earlier. This stuff takes so long to get over here. Those Blu-rays show a 2014 release …
  • bondjames wrote: » @timmer, sadly blu ray are also region coded. It's one big rip off. Quite annoying. There are some that are region free (or all region), but even then one must be careful. For example, UK versions of BBC tv series are usually re…
  • Thanks for the Blu-ray update @BondJasonBond006 and others. So Amazon USA has that one season then I'll have to get that! Are blu-ray region coded? I thought only DVD were region coded
  • I'm in Canada. Amazon.ca stocks the various DVD sets, but not blu-ray. Truth is the Steed and Peel seasons dominate in popularity, so it seems these seasons get the best release treatment. I'd like to buy the whole series in one collection, but …

  • I don't know what Steed was in Series One. It was more Hendrys deal, the series one. Steed morphed into Steed the spy for Series Two, which is really when The Avengers became The Avengers, paving the way for the iconic Steed & Peel years.
  • The original Avengers, Series 1 from 1961, yes featured Ian Hendry. It was live as was much of series 2 with Steed and Honor Blackman as Cathy Gale. In fact there are only a handful of Series One episodes preserved. The rest were lost. The three o…
  • Haven't watched it in a long time. I caught most of it on regular TV. It's on my list of DVD sets to buy along with original Avengers TV series. The big three '60s gentlemen spys are Bond, Steed and Solo. I quite enjoyed it. MacNee's last fling a…
  • It ran 3 seasons. Its present day. It's of the fantasy horror genre. Maybe more inspired by something like True Blood than Buffy, but it doesn't have True Blood's budget. Like True Blood, it's based on a series of novels. It's got a real Canadia…
  • These stories are all very speculative, citing "source" but still like many in this community, there has never been any doubt in my mind that DC was returning Wouldn't be at all surprised if Mendes is enticed back for one last go.

  • @dimi Your Star Wars knowledge is impressive. Interesting book review, even if I don't read the books, I can relate to the movie references, Greg Grunberg character. This actor seems to follow JJ Abrams around, going back to Alias days.
  • Did you see the episode? He says the word Skyfall. No leap. It's clear as a bell.
  • Barry Nelson qualifies as Bond actor, but with a big asterisk, as he played Jimmy Bond, American agent. ===meanwhile Season One of the tv female wherewolf show Bitten . (2013-14) starring Laura Vandervoort, features a Skyfall reference One of t…

  • Returning Felix is a cracking good idea. He did get a reference in the last film, and if Wright wants to be the first actor to play Felix 3x, even better. Looking forward to another round of Bond vs Blofeld in B25. Don't really care what the story…

  • Blofeld does specifically mention killing Bonds women, including Vesper and M by name, as payback for meddling in his affairs, so I'm speculating Eon maybe used this after the fact, to address uptick and reaction, to dead women in Craig era. Blofel…
  • I do like Mendes homage touch in Spectre. It's not overbearing and you really do need to be a Bond aficianado to pick up on most of it. LALD, YOLT, FRWL and OHMSS are all deftly homaged in this film. There are other nods but these four films are v…

  • King is so very readable. I've burned through all his recent titles. Got hooked with the JFK book, so I'm late to the party, but I did read The Dark Half way back, and recently have also read Salem's Lot and the first two Gunslingers. Finished Ri…
  • I've never read either of those Fleming titles either. Probably because they are non-Bond and non-fiction, even if I did diligently hunt down all the Fleming Bond titles as an adolescent. I did read "007 in New York" Will have to grab those books…
  • James Patterson presents Stalking Jack The Ripper, 2016 by Kerri Maniscalco First book by this young woman. Bit of a slog, but I like reading authors fictional takes on the gruesome mystery-horror that were the Ripper murders. Last one I read,…
  • The horns in that song are very Bond inspired as well. Fitting that the chanteuse of one of the great Bond title songs, would also do an energetic spy spoof track.
  • Logan: More like a Sam Peckinpah violent action flick than a Marvel Comics film. Meh 3/5 stars.
  • @bounine Cole's Young Bond I'd say is a maturing, quite formidable 15 as opposed to the younger 13-14 we saw in the Higson books. I've finished Cole #3 Strike Lightning. Young Bond has friends along for the ride, but they kind of parallel I thin…
  • I'm Ok with one more Craig film, even a Mendes Craig film, as that does seem where we're headed, so let's just get it done! But after that, please back to Bond basics. No more personal drama tedium. Cast the next young Sean or Laz and relaunch Bon…
