The next Bond will more than likely be a completely new incarnation of the character and detached from the Craig era. I want a clean slate and entirely new cast.

I do feel that Bond will be 007 by the end of the film ; but if this is Daniel’s curtain call, I can see M offering him his position back with MI-6 and Nomi graciously offering him the 007 designation. It’s incredibly tempting and he declines both.
