I thought Theo James was very charismatic in Divergent, but he hasn't been as good since. Ironically I think it might be because he deepened his voice when he put on an American accent, I remember the theatre practically vibrated every time he spoke.

Yes, and as I said, O'Connell is probably the best of age range. Bogart is arguably the definitive Philip Marlowe, and he's considerably shorter and slimmer than the character from the book, so it can work if you have the talent.
