  • At least one review for Blade Runner is up, on the Guardian, and it's absolutely effusive. Sounds like a critical smash for Villeneuve.
  • I think Villeneuve makes sense as far as carrying on with the more 'arty' tone they've had since QOS. Just my guess, but it's hard at this point to imagine them going back to a straight actioner.
  • I want to like this film and will likely see it, but agree that the trailer felt somehow bland to me. Not very colourful, perhaps? Not too many memorable actors (besides Vikander)? I don't know, but I'm still giving it the benefit of the doubt.…
  • It's tricky, though - after Monica Bellucci, where do you go? She's practically the definition of that type of woman. One thing seems for sure, to me - after Eva, Olga, Berenice, and Lea, B25 won't be going for a 'blonde bombshell' or a pretty y…

  • OK then, along the lines of the above discussion, here's one for you: SP - regardless of how you feel about the finished product - assembles the most talent (on both sides of the camera) that a Bond film has ever had. runner-up? OHMSS.

  • Exactly. The film had huge talent on both sides of the camera, gorgeous locations, and plenty of money - why not sit back and let things breathe a bit? With the amount of time that would be freed up by cutting 9-eyes, you could both tighten the st…

  • Here's a prediction for you: no 'in front of the camera' crew on any Bond film will get an Oscar nod, ever. That's not how the Academy rolls.

  • OK, here's one: Bond films are at their best when they're small and focused, rather than 'blockbusters.' Highpoints that many people agree on: -FRWL: a hunt for a typewriter, with a fistfight on a train as its centerpiece -CR: a card game agai…

  • For me, a big one is killing off Mathis in QOS. He's such a great character in the books, and Giannini played him brilliantly. He could have carried on for years as a lively, bon-vivant exposition machine who drops into the films once in a while. …
