  • Murdock wrote: The only thing I was disappointed with about was lack of character development for Silva and Patrice. I feel like we didn't get to know them enough. But other than that I really enjoyed Skyfall. Lack of character development fo…
  • Creasy47 wrote: @SJK91, I would think that, in terms of plausibility, an abandoned island would be one of the most plausible lairs out of a good portion of the villains. Atlantis? A space station? A volcano? Absolutely agree. I loved Silva's …
  • DRESSED_TO_KILL wrote: I thought the island was highly unnecessary and seemed quite outlandish. Seriously couldn't they have made it realistic where Silva was living out of a crappy depressing motel in the middle of nowhere in Europe. Seriously a…
  • Great post, @The_Reaper, and I mostly agree with you. The progression of the Daniel Craig films was quite superb and even though I didn't care for Quantum of Solace at all, Daniel Craig still proved that he was a competent actor all the way through.…
  • While I would have preferred that the gun barrel started Skyfall, the positioning at the end made WAY more sense than it did at the end of Quantum of Solace. In Bond 24, I'm sure it'll be back.
  • @00Beast! Come resurrect your thread again so we can now include Skyfall!
  • You want to see an interesting Bond ranking outcome? Look no further than Pete Travers' rankings (he's a film critic for Rolling Stone): http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/lists/james-bonds-best-and-worst-peter-travers-ranks-all-24-movies-2012110…
  • Scott Adkins is pretty much a b-movie actor. (Undisputed 2 & 3, and Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Ninja and Expendables 2 - what a résumé.) Of what I've seen there is nothing that shows Adkins has the potential to be as good of an acto…
  • Unfortunately, there are no special features on the Bond 50 DVD set. If you are getting the DVDs, I would hunt down the older 2-disc Ultimate Edition DVDs. Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/James-Bond-Ultimate-Edition-Goldfinger/dp/B000…
  • I'm going to keep this short for now, and will post a review a little later on. Honestly, the only issue to me was that the Komodo Dragons looked fake. Everything else clicked, and therefore Skyfall is....my all time #1 Bond film. A purely magica…
  • After my 24 day long Bond-a-thon: 1. Skyfall (2012) - 10/10 2. Casino Royale (2006) - 10/10 3. From Russia With Love (1963) - 9.5/10 4. Goldfinger (1964) - 9/10 5. Dr. No (1962) - 8.5/10 6. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) - 8.5/10 7.…
  • Skyfall The greatest James Bond film of all time.
  • Well, as I am a Yank from across the pond, it is time for me to say my temporary farewell. I shall return once I have seen Skyfall. I truly hope all of you enjoy Skyfall, and after these four years of waiting, I think we deserve to! Cheers, every…

  • I think you flip-flopped us there, @002! ;)
  • chrisisall wrote: Kerim wrote: FYEO To tell the truth, I *almost* included that in my list, but the whole revenge-is-bad speech by Bond ruined the seriousness of it for me... The pre-titles sequence and Margaret Thatcher would've r…
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with.... Diamonds Are Forever from the Bond 50 blu-ray set. Here is the real first surprise of this Bond marathon for me - I actually semi-enjoyed Diamonds Are Forever, perhaps the most I've ever enjoyed it. I'…
  • I'm also a little upset that there is no full out Bond theme on this soundtrack. It sounded like we were going to get it at the end of "She's Mine", but it turned into something else. I've had a little while to sleep on the soundtrack if you will…
  • Volante wrote: I don't know about Fassbender simply because he's the 'obvious choice'. Brosnan was the obvious choice and overall his films were a disappointment because they were lazy. Seemed like they went "Well, we got the perfect Bond, let's t…
  • Finished up listening to the entire Skyfall soundtrack. I tried to love it, I really did. But I found the whole thing overtly bland and repetitive. There are a couple stand out tracks such as "Brave New World", "Komodo Dragon" and bits of "Take the …
  • Quite a commendable list you've got there, @lewisblake, and for the most part you are spot on with your comments. Here's some where we slightly differ: Hugh Jackman: I agree that Jackman could have been right for Bond, but I feel that he's going …
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with... On Her Majesty's Secret Service from the Bond 50 blu-ray set. What a difference one film makes. By 1967, James Bond (while very successful monetarily) was beginning to become a noticeably tired franchis…
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with... You Only Live Twice from the Bond 50 blu-ray set. You Only Live Twice is a film that better exists in your memory. Prior to this viewing, I thought You Only Live Twice as a somewhat flawed but more than…
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with... Thunderball from the Bond 50 blu-ray set. Bondmania had set in very nicely by the time Thunderball was released back in 1965, and the film itself reflects that. Just take a look at that pre-titles seque…
  • "...AND YOU OWE ME ONE MILLION BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!" Haha thanks for the comments, gents.
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with... Goldfinger from the Bond 50 blu-ray set. Like Dr. No and From Russia With Love, Goldfinger was a stunning watch in high definition. It has taken me a very long time to properly recognize this, but Go…
  • Had the chance to briefly play this game after a rental. What a joke. Easily one of the worst James Bond games ever produced, the only saving grace is split-screen. 007 Legends is a cruel joke and a complete disservice (not to mention insult) to the…
  • Continuing my 23 day Bond-a-thon with... From Russia With Love from the Bond 50 blu-ray pack. Let me start off by saying that this film looks nearly flawless in high definition. I'm willing to bet that the picture from this blu-ray version is …
