  • I thought this was going to be a thread about scenes that could be deleted - for tonal inconsistency, redundancy, pacing issues, etc - not just another thread for complaining about the bar scene or Talisa Soto's acting or whatever else. At the end o…
  • This is a great thread, lots of good ideas. Here's hoping someone at EON (or someone who has EON's ear) will read the ideas here. Here are a few things I'd like to return: 1) Using the title song's melody in the score. EON loves to take what w…
  • Why does this matter?
  • Haven't Bond fans talked continuity between CR and QoS to death over the past 10 years? Guess not. jake24 wrote: Good point. Maybe Bond had some other missions in between that weren't as interesting or important to him, none that were entertain…

  • A few that come to mind: Connery in OHMSS - would have had real weight, not to mention he is the reason Bond wears a kilt. An '80s era of Bond films starring Dalton and directed by Peter Hunt. Or Dalton and John Rhys-Davies returning as Pushkin i…

  • Pretty disappointed with Fiennes' M so far. I thought he was perfect as a stuffy bureaucrat in Skyfall, but in Spectre he takes that persona to a cartoonish extreme. Very stiff and 'actorly.' I wonder if playing against Dench in Skyfall helped him b…

  • I started reading the books before I saw most of the movies, so I generally just imagine Fleming's descriptions. I do picture Bernard Lee as M. For Bond, I'd say something close to Christopher Plummer:

  • Yeah, count me in the "no" camp for Hiddleston, too. He doesn't have the right presence. He's got an ectomorphic build, a thin face (no amount of bulking up will change that), puppy dog eyes and a voice lighter than Brosnan's. Not the right choice.

  • I've got a copy of the TLD workprint - if anyone's interested, send me a PM and I should be able to help you out!
  • This is a fun exercise. Here's a Bond movie the producers could have made if they'd decided to drop Brosnan and adapt some Fleming after TWINE: Film Title: Hell is Here Year: 2001 Locations: England, Japan Song by: Goldfrapp Music by: Elliot …
  • Of the names I've seen tossed around, I like Aidan Turner best. When I just saw photos, I thought he looked a bit slight and a bit too pretty. But when I watched And Then There Were None, the thing that impressed me about his performance was his sti…
  • This is a deep philosophical question that I found myself pondering after watching the "car chase" in Spectre.
  • I'd like to see Christopher Lennertz get a crack at a Bond film. He's scored a couple Bond games, QoS and FRWL, and there are moments in the latter that arguably capture the Barry sound better than Arnold ever did in his scores (which perhaps makes …
