  • I suppose, reading through the nominations, Billie Eilish will be eligible next year for NTTD. Havent seen most of them, only real comment is that it is disappointing Soul is not a Best Picture nominee.
  • Rest in Peace Yaphet. Always a memorable performance and career.
  • @battleshipgreygt I hope so. I really wish we had a CR Madagascar chase style action scene in the film. I dont think we do though.
  • As much as I love Aston Martin, I wouldnt be adverse to the next Bond actor and his films using a different car manufacturer. Maybe the return of Lotus? Or a McLaren. Keep it high end and British.
  • The return of the DB5 should’ve been relegated to a background gag rather than actually restoring it and bringing it back. Kinda undermines its symbolic destruction in SF, but hey ho. The opening Matera chase in NTTD does look good though. Also Q…

  • In Casino Royale, just how long does Bond spend recovering from torture, in the swish rehabilitation retreat? And subsequently he and Vesper fall in love? Presumably we are looking at period of several months, but the film never makes it clear. C…
  • @mtm Unless the movie explicitly says so, or a character makes reference to it, I usually assume the time between the PTS and the main movie is a day or two. Week at most. Or in the case of QoS, 5 mins. 😁 But then you are getting into a massive c…

  • Just imagine. You’re sat there in the cinema, trailers finished, rating card shown, and that silent period and the black screen, waiting for the screen to light up. And BAM. Straight in. Tracking shot over the Ice lake and towards the cabin, trees r…

  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit I have never seen it before. And I loved it. The animation is near seamless with the live action. And this was done in 1988, before the major use of CGI. Just excellent.
  • QBranch is correct. My assumption was the bomb found by Bond in Mollaka’s backpack was for a different job. As he is a bomb maker.
  • Licence to Kill Between Dalton’s two Bond films, I am generally of the impression that TLD is the better Bond film, but LTK is the better film. If that makes sense, Lots to love here. Rogue Bond (when it was a first), Sanchez is one of my favo…

  • I’m just glad the movie hasn’t leaked, and that there hasn’t been a major spoiler leak either. Fingers crossed that continues until the release.

  • @mtm The sea drill has always irked me, especially as it has a long cable at the back, connecting it to the stealth ship.
  • @mtm Its in Khan’s best interests that the bomb goes off. At that point he doesnt know Orlov is dead and the KGB are on to them. Khan doesnt want to be seen to “double cross” Orlov and potentially be tracked down by him and the Soviets at a later…
  • @mtm You’re right, its all rather vague but to me Khan’s only interest in money, and maintaining his position as a high society Prince. I get he is partnered with Octopussy as a business partner of sorts, smuggling jewellery and money printing pl…
