  • QOS demolishes MR SF over QOS, but I love both

  • If the first trailer isn’t until December, then maybe they’ll forgo the teaser and just give us a full first trailer; at that point the film will be just four months away barring another delay.
  • More useful for trivia than anything else, but I’m curious if anyone here knows - how many times does Bond actually say his codename “007” throughout the films? I struggle to think of any right now, outside the time in TB to Felix.
  • First Genesis album, From Genesis to Revelation. For all the flak this album gets, I actually had a pretty good time with it! A pretty enjoyable first half, though admittedly so-so second half. Definitely intrigued and excited to keep going.
  • Birdleson wrote: » Genesis is where we have to part, I guess, getting through a whole album would be tough for me. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Iron Maiden (obviously I’ve heard of them). By the time they came around I was pretty much steeped i…

  • Cubs and Orioles fan here (Chicago + Baltimore are my sports cities), so I have no true stock in this year’s playoffs. I am rooting for the Nats to take the World Series because whenever my teams are out of it, I tend to root for the underdog.

  • Paul Dano as Riddler is my favorite casting I’ve heard so far - inspired! I read something about Mad Hatter possibly being in the film. I really hope they get a good actor and incorporate him, because he’s one of my favorite Batman villains. Sad he …
  • Torgeirtrap wrote: » Interesting to read about your ranking of the albums @FoxRox – and the reasoning behind it! If I were to rank the albums myself, it would look something like this: 1. The Who Sell Out 2. Quadrophenia 3. Who's Next 4. My …
  • Finished up the studio album marathon of The Who with Endless Wire. While not all bad, I feel like there was wasted potential with this album. Many of the best-sounding songs were just way too short; the extended editions of We Got a Hit and Endless…
  • Batman Forever and Batman & Robin - the latter particularly - are horrible movies, but can work as guilty pleasures and are more enjoyable than almost every Batman film after Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy (it it counts, Joker is the exception).

  • The Vanishing (1988). Extremely well-done drama/horror film.
  • Birdleson wrote: » The single, YOU BETTER YOU BET, is pretty good. The next album has some strong, classic sounding songs. That was one of the better songs off that album. Already listened to the follow-up, It's Hard. Though it's not quite…
  • Face Dances by The Who. Oh dear, this was quite the drop-off. Nothing horrible, but just a big step down from all the previous content by the band. I did enjoy a few of the tracks, but collectively this was easily the weakest Who album so far. I don…
  • Birdleson wrote: » Exactly. And those two songs are the ones that still get, by far, the most air and concert play from that album to this day. Notice what the chair covering Keith's stomach says? I did notice that :( I read up a lot on Ke…
  • Keeping it going with Who Are You - the final album to feature Keith Moon sadly. Who Are You and Sister Disco would rank among my favorite songs by the band, but collectively this is probably the weakest album of the original lineup. Definite…

  • My favorite song from The Who By Numbers, another really good album from the band. Side One was particularly great! It's not quite as amazing as the last three albums, but it's still a great effort and probably my fourth favorite among the albums. M…
  • @Birdleson that is a pretty neat single! I’ll get around to those Townshend albums after The Who albums. That’s pretty high praise to put it as more important than Bond! I think most musicians, if not all, have a band or two that particularly inspir…
  • Quadrophenia. Wow. Yet again The Who blew me away. Not sure if I prefer it over Who's Next or Tommy, but it's quite possibly the most technically impressive album they put out. They really accomplished something special with this one. Side 4 was my …
  • @Birdleson Yes - the change in Daltrey’s vocals is very noticeable. I just listened through Who’s Next, and was thoroughly floored. I had my doubts I was going to enjoy an album from them more than Tommy, but Who’s Next is just too good. Won’t Get F…
  • In the middle of Live at Leeds by The Who now. Really good stuff; I'm not normally a big fan of live albums, but The Who are particularly good here. Makes me wish I could have seen them live - especially in their heyday.
  • OHMSS over TSWLM, but I do love the latter as well. FYEO over DAD - no contest.
  • Tommy. I was pretty blown away by this album. Underture, the above song, is the longest track - an instrumental tune that I particularly loved (has to be my favorite of the album). Some of my other favorite tracks include Pinball Wizard, We're Not G…
  • Interesting to see how divisive Joker has been. For me it’s easily one of the best comic-book films of recent years. Actually felt meaningful and worthwhile for me. I’ll be seeing it many more times I’m sure.
