  • I think we may as well come to terms with the fact that every generation deals with the taboos of the previous ones, while creating new ones instead. Everything "old" eventually clashes with modern sensitivities. If our response is to "wash it", we …
  • The Tintin books are still in very high demand in these parts of the world. Reprints, expensive hardback releases, omnibus formats, ... we're seeing them in pretty much every book store. It appears that people care less about the controversies than …

  • What sets Craig’s Bond apart from all the others is his energy. Connery was electric, but Craig had a nuclear reactor burning inside him. His Bond didn’t just speak his lines; he charged them with emotion and bravura. He didn’t merely fight an oppon…
  • I wouldn't have a problem with Zimmer coming back. His NTTD, rushed or not, clearly respects the musical vibes of Bond. Playful, charming, emotional (at times), menacing (at times), ... it was the right mix for the film. Part of why NTTD works for m…
  • Creative disagreement, when resolved constructively, can lead to excellence. I wouldn't start worrying just yet. The idea that a modern Bond film is "easy" to put together, especially in the scripting phase, feels a tad, uhm, naive.

  • This was a nice Friday night delight. Thank you, @Gerard.

  • @Mallory Ultimatum is my favourite of the bunch. Controversial opinion: I'm also rather fond of Legacy. It's different, but Renner does a pretty good job. The film is cold and quiet, but an effective thriller if you ask me.
