  • After Moonraker, I can say that we're back on track...again...with Octopussy. I've always liked Octopussy; it has one of the more complex plots of the series. General Orlov is played excellently and the idea of him setting off an atomic bomb simp…
  • Moonraker This is one that surely divides fans right down the middle. On one hand, you have a very over-the-top script that puts more emphasis on silliness and gags. On the other hand, you have an excellent Barry score (as much as I like the one-…

  • ThighsOfXenia wrote: » The use of the Bond theme during the end credits in OHMSS was a horrible decision. I would agree if the version of the theme was any different. Instead, Barry treats us to an eerie, somewhat-bittersweet recording of t…
  • I think Craig looking younger is more in his hair style...it was cut far shorter in Skyfall but here it looks more like the length in Casino Royale, which definitely makes him look younger.
  • On Her Majesty's Secret Service After watching The Man With The Golden Gun, I can finally say I'm back to a film that I really enjoy. Honestly, I believe this film to be the crown-jewel in the Bond franchise. The film has the best soundtrack in t…
  • Thunderfinger wrote: » Donald Pleasence would have been a better Blofeld without the dwarf voice. He sounds like Nick Nack when he shouts "Kill Bond now!" Savalas was the best Blofeld for me, besides the unseen version in FRWL/TB. Th…
  • Chalk up three more Bond films on my Bondathon: YOLT, DAF, TMWTGG. As posted previously I'm trying to create as much continuity between films as possible. So far, I've watched CR, QOS, DN, FRWl, GF, LALD, TB, YOLT, DAF, TMWTGG. You Only Live T…
  • I watched Thunderball in my "chronological" Bondathon last night. Thunderball includes one of my favorite scenes of the franchise, The Kiss Kiss Club. I love everything from when Connery ties his flesh-wound up until Connery's "You mind if my fri…
  • As I stated in the "Last Bond Movie Watched" thread, I'm watching the films in a different order in order to create some sort of continuity between the films leading up to SPECTRE, obviously disregarding the time periods and actors in certain roles.…
  • @ThighsOfXenia I would love to compare your list! As I said above, I actually took a moment to sit down and try to fit them all in chronologically into one timeline, especially with Skyfall blending the lines between reboot and pre-reboot even mo…
  • I started a run through a few weeks back leading up to SPECTRE, although I'm watching the films in a different order and angle this time: CR, QOS, DN, FRWL, GF, LALD, TB, YOLT, DAF, TMWTGG, OHMSS, FYEO, TSWLM, MR, OP, AVTAK, TLD, LTK, GE, TND, TW…

  • Here's a question...do you think Hinx will be a one-off henchmen or do you think they may have plans to bring him back (like Jaws in Moonraker)?
  • After the announcement of SPECTRE, I decided to pull out some of the early Bond games and start doing a ranking. As of now, here is where the ones I have replayed sit and rank. 1. Agent Under Fire PS2 2. The World Is Not Enough PS1 3. Tomorro…
  • Not in the sense of a traditional Bond film...there are aspects of film noir involved, especially in the opening sequences that have been filmed. This is just a trailer of what is to come. Originally shot as a 2006 fan film, we are making a remak…
  • Am I the only one who liked the way McClane was portrayed in Live Free or Die Hard? He had his moments where he harkened back to the McClane of old (complaining about getting involved while in the tunnel, laughing after destroying the helicopter wit…
  • McClane bungee jumping off the top of Nakatomi Plaza with nothing but a rubber hose is a bit over-the-top. Regardless, the original is my favorite action film ever created. Personally, I liked the fourth one. It modernized the McClane character i…
  • It symbolizes the fact that despite Bond being down, he most certainly wasn't out and that'd he'd return. I've also always felt that the redition of the theme used at the end always sounded eerie and just screamed that "Bond's Back!"
  • In no particular order, Back To The Future, Die Hard, Goodfellas, The Godfather, and Titanic. If I could do a top ten, I'd also include Groundhog Day, The Godfather: Part II, Forrest Gump, Terminator 2, and Scarface.
  • The Man With The Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me. TMWTGG: Definitely not as bad as I remember. I remember it being slow and boring but this time I actually enjoyed it. Something about it seems well put together. Regardless, it still doesn't h…
  • Live And Let Die. I don't know about this one, it just seems forgettable. No memorable stunts or villains with the exception of Baron Samedi. Solitare is beautiful but hardly leaves a mark and the whole film seems rather lackluster. Still, better th…
  • Working though the Bond series. Just watched Diamonds Are Forever. As of this far, I've made three observations. Mostly that I really enjoyed YOLT more than usual and that I found Thunderball to be unusually slow. Ranking: 1. From Russia With …
  • Does anyone know if the re-releases of QOS and CR on Blu-ray will have matching spines as to the rest of the single releases? If not, it'd be kind of pointless to sell my current copy of Casino Royale.
  • I love those violins. I wish the original had them as it'd fit well with the (Spoiler) That said, the vocals aren't a patch on Adele's.
  • I'd have to answer Tomorrow Never Dies. At least The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day had new and different things that they were trying out. Tomorrow Never Dies just feels generic, tired, rushed, and overall boring. Worst one for sure.
  • I once read somewhere that it was a typo and the track was supposed to be called "Tracy." If I can find that article on the internet, I'll be sure to post it here.
