I think that if faithful small screen adaptations were made, they'd have to be set in the period in which they were written to be truly faithful. I wouldn't want to see modern adaptations.

No, I don't think DN, FRWL, GF, TB and OHMSS have been done properly. Faithful adaptations of the Fleming books would be wonderful and this is something I've always wanted but if they were done on TV, they'd need to have truly talented actors, maybe…

Colonel Sun certainly had some good bits that were Flemingsque but overall I find the book somewhat lacklustre and overrated in the literary Bond community.

I've read some of Sebastian Faulk's books and I think they're first class. Then, look at the result of the miserable Devil May Care. Having said that, Faulks supposedly didn't take the task seriously.

Yes, I was about to make a post suggesting that Eon must have decided to just quietly throw Quantum on to the scrap heap without any kind of wrap up to it all. Now, they will obviously be addressing Quantum, thank God.
