  • I have been listening to the score, and still, find it fantastic. Detonation is a piece of music that isn't getting all the praise that it deserves.
  • I watched the movie again yesterday. And again, I loved the score. The part of the Rome chase in which they go through the Vatican City has an amazing orchestration. I enjoyed that moment. I love that short cue.

  • I think that the repetitions that I noticed where fully justified within the story.
  • I liked what Newman did with both films. And as I want Mendes to return, I want Newman to return as well.
  • It was just wonderful. Outstanding.
  • Having watched the film, I must say, I loved it. I haven't listened to the score outside of the cinema context, but in it it just works. The times I noticed some of the Skyfall cues, they made sense. (Spoiler) I understood that it was maybe not ne…
  • I like David Arnold in general. The problem is that when he does Bond he's obsessed with trying to imitate Barry. And he shouldn't do that. Arnold is a fine composer, but I don't want him in Bond. His Barry impersonations just aren't enough. I ha…

  • Today's the press screening in the UK, isn't it?

  • 007 theme is Barry 100%, and as it's been used in Bond, it's become bondian. Grand Bazaar is 100% Thomas Newman, it certainly has his touches, and it's quite Bondian, or at least I think of it as being quite Bondian. New things are often attacked be…
  • The problem I have with David Arnold is that he always tried to copy or imitate Barry's style. He's no Barry though. There's only one score he's done that I really like, Casino Royale. I'm a big Barry fan, I love his compositions and his unique sent…
  • I don't want to listen to any of the music until the 6th of November with the movie itself. The point of a score is that it has to work with the images we see, so I don't se the point of hearing to the music before seeing the pictures. At least, the…
