  • Obviously it’s an exhausted topic by now on these forums. It simply comes down to no one knowing exactly what EON are doing at this time (it’s absolutely true and likely that they are doing preliminary work, especially in terms of looking for/approa…
  • If Bond 26 had a big, bold rock song as its title tune I’d be ok with that. It’s a bit of an obvious choice but I can imagine someone like Hozier doing it. I’m sure there are loads of other weird and wonderful choices though.
  • I think a Joker sequel could have been done well, and I’m saying this as someone who wasn’t keen on the first one. The script is its biggest issue.

  • Of course Nolan’s good enough for Bond. I just don’t buy that he’s the only director for the job. He’s not the only one who could give us a great Bond film. I’d argue he wouldn’t even give us the best one in this hypothetical scenario.
  • I think there’s always a risk giving anyone complete freedom. Incidentally I don’t think Nolan would ever get that, nor would any director working on a franchise like Bond in practice. They can’t just do whatever they want, even if they have a great…
  • I think bits and pieces from Gardner and Benson have made their way into the films (whether consciously or not). DAD had an ice hotel similar to the ice palace in Icebreaker, and the way The Union operated in Benson’s novels (ie. having ‘plants’ in …

  • I think Dirisu could happen. It just depends on what they want from the new Bond and what he could bring, but they’ve said they’re willing to go for an actor who isn’t white. The next actor will get push back whatever way initially/before the film’s…

  • To be fair I was never a big fan of Dan Stevens or Fassbender. I’m not sold on Hoult either, but I know he’s a very good actor (and was an alternative choice for Batman). I think the next actor will be more on the up and coming side. I know they’…
  • Anyone seen Megaopolis yet? I’ve heard mixed things but I want to check it out.
  • Marvel’s not the best comparison. It’s a big operation with various projects going at once. It’s not the same as Bond. A better comparison would be something like the MI series, which since 2011 has had 3, but more often 4 + year gaps. The next B…

  • I don't think it was Layer Cake that got Craig noticed though. Hypothetically if he'd never made it he still would have been on their radar. Not every actor has a Layer Cake anyway.
  • If we’re going from precedent one will be out a year before Bond 26 and probably when the actor has been cast already.

  • Again, presumably Amazon know roughly what’s going on with EON behind the scenes. If they're willing to wait then there’s presumably a reason at this point. Also I don’t think it’s fair to compare Cubby’s two year output with that of today. These…
  • That's true. I'm not sure if that would have annoyed EON specifically (I think under the right circumstances they'd give a director quite a lot of that input, and arguably they did with Sam Mendes on SF). I think it becomes a problem when the direct…
  • I’m going to presume that Salke/Amazon are privy to a lot of what EON are discussing when it comes to Bond. If that’s the case and this is the PR we’re getting I think that points to something relatively stable, albeit a situation where it’ll be don…
  • I’d like to think Nolan isn’t losing any sleep over not directing Bond. And why would he? Many directors are fans and have even said they’d make a Bond film under the right circumstances. Not all of them get to do it though. It’s just the way it is.…
  • Well, probably because he said 'I'm not directing the next Bond film' last year.
