  • If we're talking about sex (and sexism?) in Bond films this is always going to be subject to reinterpretation. The first few Connery films had random receptionists fawning over Bond, the character breaking off dates with Sylvia to go 'to the office'…

  • I don't think it's as simple as 'keep Bond and upset certain audiences' or 'change him and lose who he is fundamentally as a character'. I also see a lot of vague stuff about political correctness without much substance here. Are we talking about ca…

  • The first time the film series disappointed me? Probably the first time I ever watched the Bond films (in order) and got to TB. Seriously, cannot understand how anyone finds any enjoyment in that film. Even as a child I thought it dull dull dull.

  • Nah, we won't get a name for a while yet. I can imagine perhaps scriptwriters/directors or something being revealed later this year (maybe), but not the next Bond.

  • Ah, we're back onto Aidan Turner. Was worried we'd strayed a bit from this thread. Anyone have anything interesting to say about jawlines?
  • Tom Hardy's such an interesting 'what if' when it comes to Bond. I know a lot of people point to his role as Eames in Inception as an example of how he'd have gone about the role, but I actually felt thought his performance as Reggie Kray in Legend …
  • @mtm Yeah, I can appreciate that. I suppose for me the reason I'd like the next actor to ideally read all the books going into the role is for the same reason they should watch all of the previous Bond films. Even in Craig's tenure alone there are s…

  • TB is a strange novel for me. It's another one I revisit the least and tend to find its latter half a bit on the dull side (to be honest I have harsher words to say about the film). It's a good read, but it's not quite as thrilling as I feel it shou…
