    Never gonna happen. Ever.

This is great news, but I hope we get a new director.

You havent even seen Skyfall yet. He may be the man to bring back.
but I like having the directors change each film, I think it gives variety.

In my opinion that was one of the things that sunk the Brosnan era particularly that some of the directors wernt up to grade ie Tamahori.

Would Sam do another one you think after Skyfall?

Tarantino CR with Brosnan, I like CR as it is but I sort of wish that had happened. Anyway, probably won't happen now as apparently he was pissed of after they did CR without him (he says he suggested it), but I can dream :)

I know Skyfall will probably be good but like I said, I like having the directors change. I'm sure Mendes will do a great job but I like seeing what different directors can do.

It's not impossible. I think Mendes would have at least been courted to do Bond 24.

Perhaps this is total garbage, but according to this report Tarantino prefers Brosnan to Craig:

He said something about returning if he's still excited about the process right?

Exactly. It almost sunk Craig with QOS IMO

The constant churn in directors has been one of the big problems with the series. Directors no longer have the chance to refine their 'take' any more. Martin Cambell's 2nd effort with CR was a massive improvement on GE and showed the value of getting a second go. If the Mendes film is any good it would be great to have him back. But let's wait and see if it's any good first!

Plus, I think Mendes is the sort of director who will want a new challenge after SF. If he does another one, I don't think it would be for a few years.

Well, he's entitled to his opinion but personally u think Tarantino is just holding a grudge against Eon because of CR and it doesn't matter who replaced Brosnan, Tarantino would still say the same thing because he feels CR going into production was his idea and that chance was "robbed" from him. I like Tarantino. I'm a big fan of his movies but his grudge against EON is wanton and petty.

Well, that depends. If he's telling the truth and CR was his idea then he has a right to be angry imo.

He's clever enough not to rule anything out, but you have to remember that he's been involved for 3 or 4 years now and is the kind of creative guy who will be looking for a new challenge. I'd be VERY surprised if he did another one straight away. IF he did another, it would be after some time out.

Probably too soon to say anything about #24 until SkyFall gets closer to the release date, I feel like that'd be rushing the process and taking away SkyFall's anticipation!

We did hear rumours in October that EON had asked Logan to work on ideas for Bond 24, so work is already underway I would say.

Using Casino Royale as a guide, Bond 24 could be announced with a release date as early as next month.

Press conference in December - February?

Let's hope they push ahead with haste, but don't sacrifice the quality for speed's sake.

2013 - 2014, yes? I would think so, the normal time as ever. Just before filming begins. January 2014 at the latest.

This may been the first time in years the script is done by the time Skyfall is released, just like the old days. This alone will be good news.

That's the real challenge. Can we get, two, three or more good films in a row with two year intervals?

Script done by Skyfall's finish? Why not push ahead to 2013! Haha, plenty of time to cast......... [-O< :-\" $-)

    It would truly be Classic Bond if after the credits roll we see;

James Bond will return in ....

Maybe with a near complete, or at least something or a script, there's a slight chance of that. Doubtful but you never know.

I agree. Unless they already have a title that they absolutely love; I can't see EON locking themselves in. Although it could always be changed.

Remember at the end of TSWLM was written: "James Bond will return in For Your Eyes Only" and then, having seen the success of Star Wars, they changed the film to Moonraker.

Let me tell all you never bring back Brosnan because by then he'll 60 years old & another thing Quentine Tarantino is j**k casting him in Casino Royale. I was glad he or Brosnan never did it. What Martin Campbell said I never imagine Brosnan in Casino Royale.

Well I Daniel Crag will reprise 007 role for the fourth time. I do hope Miss Moneypenny returns,Q & M. Geffrey Wrights to return as Felix Leither. Bill Tanner can also return. The Bond24 Mobile well if not Aston Martin how about switching him to Jaguar. Maybe the F-Type?

To me Tarantino's best days have been and gone, his style is just a bit of a cliche now, so i have no great desire to see him direct a Bond film, myabe 10-15 years ago.

Let's just hope there isn't another writers strike...........Then it might be 2016
  • Great news, of course. We should have him for the 2014 release and I suspect we will get Craig through 2016 and then we'll see what happens. I love that he is so enthusiastic about the role and wants to keep going. Even after 5 films, he'll still be way younger than Sir Roger when he retired, but with the amount of physicality he brings to the role, my biggest question is how long can his body hold up?

Why are people even wasting time flirting with the possibility of Craig not returning and being recast? Craig isn't going anywhere, he's arguably the only Bond actor to have some sort of creative clout going into the production of these movies. The producers hold him with high regard, infinitely moreso than the likes of Brosnan. If any of you have read the new empire magazine, it's pretty clear that they're looking to take Bond to new heights and they're just getting started. Craig is their man.

If Eon churn out a Bond in 2012, 2014 and then 2016 it's safe to assume that after that (and with 5 films under his belt) Craig may feel somewhat burnt out. He will be approaching 50 and the physical demands will be showing.

With that in mind it's doubtful he would carry on. If he does, then great.
