Your favorite fake rumors!

This is taking inspiration from the recent thread of the Rachel Weisz rumor, I wanted to know what has been your favorite fake rumor! Not just for Skyfall but for as long as you can remember.

Mine was that old one of Bill Clinton making a cameo in TWINE or DAD (i don't remember which one it was for)

    Great thread idea.. I can think of a whole bunch but top 10 for me (in no particular order)

    1. 2004 The Man with Dragon Tattoo being filmed as Brosnan's 5th and final film i thought the idea would of been good and a nice way to end the old franchise before rebooting with Casino Royale
    2. Olsen Twins in Quantum Of Solace for the sheer hilarity factor alone no one believed it but man if it was true I think many on this site would of abandoned bond lol (that said if a former american kid star become a bond girl I'll approach it with healthy skepticism but i refuse to throw out a whole film that i haven't seen based on someone's resume)
    3. Bond 22 is Risico this one gained considerable traction and many referred to bond 22 as Risico even days before the title was announced
    4. Bond 23 is The Property of a lady and the fan made plot... It seemed cool to me and a neat way to utilize the Fleming title. Whoever came up with it I think your a genius and would love to read your fan fic.
    5. Bond 23 is The Hildebrand Rarity a favorite Fleming title of mine and rumored days before Skyfall was announced... Maybe Bond 24 :D
    6. Matheu Armanic, Ralph Fiennes, any actor who is male and we don't know the character name is Blofeld... Blofeld was rumored to appear in Quantum and he wasn't I doubt he'll be in Skyfall and find Fiennes as a future M far more interesting.
    7. Bond 21 will be set in Ireland and feature Irish terrorists personally I would of found this to be a far more interesting end to Brosnan's tenure then what we got.
    8. Bond 17 will be the property of a lady and feature the hand over of Hong Kong.. we all read the plot but I don't believe it's been verified as being A) real and B) used for Dalton's third especially the title part. irregardless good outline would of loved to see Dalton in it.
    9. Danny Boyle will direct Bond 23 first Skyfall rumor and a good one at that.
    10. Mark Strong will be the Villain in Skyfall another nice rumor that wound up being false.

    I had forgotten about that Man with the Red Tattoo rumor. But I remember reading that and thinking what a great film it would of made

    TWINE: Sharon Stone was to be cast as Elektra, Ewan MacGregor as her son Renard. Elektra would be an ex-girlfriend of Bond's and the surprise plot twist would be that Bond is Renard's father. Renard's and Elektra's scheme would be to blow up the Millenium Dome at Y2K. Many former Bond girls would make cameo appearances.

    DAD: Sean Connery would make a cameo appearance as Bond's dad in a flashback scene detailing Bond's father and mother dying in a climbing accident.

    CR would be shot in South Africa.

    Elektra would be an ex-girlfriend of Bond's and the surprise plot twist would be that Bond is Renard's father.
    That sounds horrible, but with one little twist - Elektra and Renard making Bond think he is Renard's father as a way of psychologically torturing him - it could open up some interesting avenues to explore (ie Bond feeling responsible for Renard's crimes).

    Agreed. And wasn't Haggis quoted as saying he tried to float the idea of Bond's son appearing in QoS?

    I'm sorry but, the novel YOLT aside, Bond should not have to deal with a child of his in the film series. Ever.

    It was supposed to be Vesper's child. Marc Forster didn't like it, though.

    Ugh, children should never appear in a Bond movie again--The Man With The Golden Gun, anyone? Diamonds Are Forever?

    Also, Haggis' idea sounds suspiciously like The Bourne Ultimatum.

    Bond has a son that appears in the same film, :L , no way Jose, I hope any such 'ideas' are doomed to failure and never see the light of day

    I have no objection to some random kids in the background of any Bond release or such instances as the elephant boy from TMWTGG, but actual Bond offspring or anything near it?, Get out of Town

    I agree with Baltimore. No offspring, brother, father, mother, uncle, nephew, aunt... If they would go there, Bond would be reduced to the level of soap opera.

    The children chasing Solange on her horse in CR- this is the most we should see children in a Bond film. No son of Bond.

    QBranch, agreed although even that little scene in CR was a bit much for me.

    The poignant genius of the novel YOLT is that Bond never knew he fathered a son. (I'm not counting Benson.)

    The Bond not knowing he was a father plot could really work for a film. It should happen when the time is right and I'd love to see it included.

    would you really consider it a rumor? - because it was known that EON were set on trying to make it happen, and I believe a script was in place... but everything fell through....... thank god.

    26 February 1999 Between the lines of some talking about the Boat chase for the film, the news leaked some stunt guy names Douglas James replacing Brosnan in all stunts.

    3 July 1999 it be confirmd Garbage doing the title song of The World Is Not Enough, but in this message there said earlier names there think about be Mel C (from the Spicegirls) and Robbie Williams.

    8 February 2000. Brosnan whant to make make 7th Bond movies leaked by Douglas James, sad enough there be some truth in it because same message in the first place going about that Bond 20 wil Brosnan his last movie but some site Empire Online denies this.

    30 March 2000. Bond wil drive a Astin Martin again. Partly true, because the news talking about a DB7 Vantage, but Bond driving a Astin Martin V12 with a V8 motor.

    19 May 2000. Edward Woodward the new Boss of James Bond. Beyond The Ice title of Bond 20. As we know Beyond The Ice whas not more then a work title of Die Another Day given by the media.

    29 May 2000 Shirley Eaton wil make comeback in Bond 20.

    7 July 2000. Michael Apted wil return for Bond 20 for September 2002 release.

    15 August 2000. Oliver Reed mist on the edge to be the follow up of Sean Connery.

    Before Madonna there also going story's Garbage wil do the title song of Bond 20.

    At the time of DAD there be remours Jinx be the villian, possbile some trurth in it with remours Michael Madsen going to play a villian & Miranda Frost be good girl.

    Around the late 80s it was rumoured that a Bond film was being prepared starring all the four (at the time) Bond actors as James Bond. It was suggested that Bond was a code name passed from one agent to the next.
    Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton were both rumoured to be interested in the idea.

    What fan made plot? What was it about? You've made me curious. :)

    I have a feeling that Mark Strong will be rumoured for Bond 24, 25...

    Other rumours:
    - Catherine Zeta Jones would play an MI6 agent/Bond girl and Kevin Spacey the villain in Bond 20: Beyond the Ice
    - Dalton's 3rd would involve robots
    - Sean Connery playing the villain for Bond 18
    - Tarantino making Casino Royale as a period piece following OHMSS with Brosnan and Uma Thurman as Vesper

    And of course...
    - Puff Daddy as James Bond :)

    I was trying to find out more info I remember reading a full article that wrote out the full plot but essentially the film opens in New York City at an auction in the UN building... it essentially states quantum controls the world already and are trying to get M and Bond put away so they can stay around
