@doubleonothing, remember when you enlightened me about the "pulse thingy" being the Goldeneye?

OMG!! I'm still a Bond noob that way, I'm afraid.

@PropertyOfALady I used MS PowerPoint. The problem is not BankGothic on the cover, in the mail Amazon said everything was ok with the cover. The problem was BankGothic being used on the manuscript.

    Odd! Don't know, I'm afraid.

It appears it's a technical glitch, or so they told me. Sent a couple of (angry) mails to Amazon and they are trying to fix it.

I think I said: "It's literally the title of the film..."

    - Stills: There'll be no photos other than the cover artwork, I'm afraid. I don't have permission and I don't want trouble with EON, Gettyimages, Keith Hamshere, etc. I even tried to make the cover as evocative as I could to the film's subject.

Perhaps the author should have approached Eon for permission? I assume Eon would want some share in the profits? Putting it bluntly, a fan book without any imagery would seem counterproductive. I think fans would expect some photos, particularly as the book is about a new James Bond actor.

Not quite, Licensed To Thrill by James Chapman has no photos and the book is quite interesting to read, same as Il Caso Bond by Umberto Eco. Nowadays, there are hundereds of pics of GoldenEye around, even on my site, and by the numbers I'm getting prove the book has surpassed my expectatives just like the words of appreciation.

EON is quite unreachable for this matter of things. Also, I don't think they'd care for a film released in 1995. And as far as I know I'd have to sell a kidney to buy permission from a single still. The other books I've seen focused on films (He Disagreed With Something That Ate Him by Cary Edwards, A Close Look At AVTAK by Andrew McNess) have no pics.

I would gladly add it to my collection.

Hopefully it’ll include some positive comments about Eric Serra’s underrated score for the film. Have been a lone defender of Serra’s contribution to the Bond sound for a long time.

My order is still in limbo, can't even track it - Amazon just keeps pushing the date day by day with no clue when it'll arrive. Shame.

EDIT: Just arrived. Probably the wonkiest order I've ever endured, I couldn't even view the details of the purchase nor any sort of tracking information past "It'll now arrive by June 14th," so I'm glad that was a hopeful estimate and nothing more. Looking forward to checking it out.

It certainly does! I concluded that Serra's contribution was crucial and that it fitted the atmosphere of the film. My friend Yannick Zenhäusern has also contributed in this section.

Good news, then. The delay was due –I think– to the problem with the BankGothic font that couldn't be processed by the printers. The book was put on hold for three days until this issue was solved by me and Amazon. Perhaps they have delayed it to give you a proper edition (I know some of them had circles instead of text on the chapter heading).
As for the shipping, the same happens to me. All I know is that will arrive between June 17-27, it has a long way to Argentina. But I don't see it "shipped" either.

Anyway, hope you all will enjoy it!

Not strictly related to my book, but with some bemusement I noticed that Warner Bros is misinformed or isn't too comfortable admitting that Leavesden Studios were built for GoldenEye and it's not like the abandoned Rolls Royce factory turned into a film studio out of thin air and then GoldenEye was shot there. Peter Lamont has built not only the film sets but the offices and the actors' changing rooms. @MI6 @JamesPage

The other books I've seen focused on films (He Disagreed With Something That Ate Him by Cary Edwards, A Close Look At AVTAK by Andrew McNess) have no pics.

Correction: The Edwards book does have pics -- at least, the paperback version. I ordered your book and the Edwards one together.

Oh, I read the Kindle version and it had no pics as far as I can remember. Does it have stills from the films? Anyway, thank you for your purchase!

An article I wrote for Ultimate Movie Action Club regarding GoldenEye and the Cold War (which is also a chapter of my book) http://ultimateactionmovies.com/james-bond-goldeneye-cold-war/

And here's a (slightly racy) interview on a Tumblr page dedicated to Xenia Onatopp: https://onatoppssteambath.tumblr.com/post/185752319841/

If you want to get the Spanish edition for the different cover artwork, you can order it on your local Amazon account, which will be cheaper than getting from Amazon Spain. Remember, Amazon prints it wherever they have printers (USA, UK, Italy, France, Germany) so the price will be more or less the same as the English version https://amzn.to/2L37QYZ
