Two early novels, only published after Shute's death. Not bad.

Lies Sleeping, by Ben Aaronovitch. Again. I LOVE this series. Great characters, humor, magic, police procedures, etc. Oh and London. I love reading about London. And the main character, Peter Grant, has developed to have a very enjoyable style, the way he tells us the stories.

That's the second recommendation for Ben Aaronovitch I've had in 2 days. I must try them. (Remembrance of the Daleks is one of my favourite Dr Who stories, so...)

@Agent_99, I strongly suggest reading the series (Rivers of London) by Aaronovitch in order.
They have a unique voice and are a real treat. Bit magical, but more than that.

Wilt on High by Tom Sharpe. The third of, I think 5 Wilt books. And possibly the last ‘good’ Wilt book. Although I’ve Yet to read The Wilt Inheritance which I can only hope is a notch up from Wilt in Nowhere , time will tell.

I am currently reading The Ethereal Astro-Mystical Phlogiston by Annie Besant.

Just kidding! I'm reading Marlborough: England's Fragile Genius, by Richard Holmes and Annie Besant. It's heavy-going at times but provides an exhaustive look at the man rightly regarded as Britain's greatest sorceror general. The author, Mr. Besant Holmes, is a warlock military historian and expert in all aspects of the occult war.
