It looks like the LALD comic adaption and the LALD Folio Edition will come out at almost the same time. September-October.

I've been reading Kill Chain again today and holy c*** it's good. It has been my Nr. 1 anyway but i feel like it even went up in my estimation.
Now i really want Diggle/Casalanguida back! These two need to continue their story. Hopefully Dynamite will announce something in the next couple month.

Agreed. Hammerhead and Kill Chain are my two favourite series Dynamite have done thus far, so I of course want them back. I am hopeful for a really solid trilogy at the very least.

We also need parts 2 and 3 of the Felix Leitrer trilogy!

It baffles me how IFP signed off on The Body. I feel like that series completely derailed the original plans and now Dynamite have done a soft relaunch of sorts with Origins and Oddjob.

Sometimes you have to have a Die Another Day to get a Casino Royale. I would like another Felix Leiter story, along with Moonraker, more Goldfinger.

Die Another Day, as extravagant as it was, was at least a decent James Bond adventure that didn't betray any of the Bond principles despite what Brosnan detractors want people to believe. The Body was written by a politically driven meathead and one to degrade and devalue Bond as a character. Even CR '67, compared to The Body, is a masterpiece.

    Fair enough.

It's looking great for Oddjob, overall! Let me know what you all think!

What are the chances of getting Roger or Timothy on the cover and in the illustrations?

The new Oddjob was fairly disappointing. I don’t understand how we have spent so many issues with this storyline and nothing of note has happened yet. It’s so predictable and over reliant on last page twists. I don’t think this will hold up well as a collected trade.

I have mixed feelings about it too. I think it's entertaining enough and the art is great, it just doesn't focus on Bond enough for me. But i get the feeling that issue 1-6 are just a big setup for the next arc beginning with #7. Even the synopsis for #7 says "the friendship is finished" and we will have all the classic villains in place by then.

I hope it'll get better. For now i enjoy Origin which is miles better than i ever thought it would be.

How would you guys say Origins and Oddjob compare to other storylines Dynamite has done so far?

Neither of these two is a formulaic typical Bond tale, like the previous ones (with the exception of The Body).
I would rank Origins very high, it's definitly one of the best ones for me, it's a very gripping story and it only seems to get better.

Oddjob is somewhere in the (lower) middle, though i would rank the art very high.

Okay that's interesting. Still really looking forward to reading them, in particular Origins from what I'm hearing. Thanks for that.

Good that I haven't bought The body. But I'm really looking forward to Origins. I wait for the german translation...

So is this Goldfinger or like his twin? I'm a little disappointed that, if it is Goldfinger, then it kind of ruins the premise that these stories continue after the novels (set in modern day).

Agreed. It’s becoming so confusing Dynamite is dropping the ball. I don’t want to see the same villain brought back to life repeatedly. Bond should always go forward. Not look back.

I agree, but some villains/characters are too good not to use again.

But, outside Blofeld who was made to be a recurring antagonist, it will defeat the purpose of all those one-off villains. They wouldn't feel the same at all.

We all knew they would bring him back sooner or later the moment they announced Oddjob. It was inevitable. I will wait and see how he turns out before i pass judgement. Honestly, if his inclusion can improve this series then i am all for it. Right now it's pretty mediocre, which is a shame after such a great start.

I finally caught up with it. The artwork is fantastic I wish they keep Mooney for a really long time. I didn't mind the story and whatnot, even though Bond is hardly in it due to incarceration (Danny Boyle's B25, anyone? Lol!). But, this seems to me like an outright remake of Goldfinger. Not just an adaptation or a reimagining, but a remake with a retooled story only using key elements from the Fleming plot.

Not trying to start a political debate, but Van Jensen sharing the text of Moonraker might be a sign that he may be studying up for his next novel adaptation.

Also, LALD's cover has been released!

Love the cover! But why is there still a 1 on the spine? Shouldn't it be a 2. Oh well still excited!

Great cover, do we know the artist? It certainly is not Fay Dalton.
