"working title" .... says nothing confirmed then.
I would laugh out loud if the working title is…
    Eclipse
and the actual title turns out to be…
    Solar
It would even fit with EONs love for S-word titles.

    Seven letters, please.

    S O L A R I S.

That's way better than the rumoured (working) title!

That's the title of one of the best sci-fi novels ever written.

Shifting the topic a bit, but filming for B25 will officially be underway in 7 days. Do we think Craig or any principle cast will be present in Norway?

Not that I know anything but...
I believe Léa and Daniel will be there...or just "the kid" and Jesper Christensen

    Jesper Christensen? Source?

The spoiler phobic nature of this site has become ridiculous. Almost every post is initially hidden now. It would make more sense for people that sensitive to spoilers to not come on here. Daft.

What titles do you need to put in spoiler tags. ?

Am i missing something. Whats that title got to do with bond ?
It is rumored to be the title of B25 after an apparent leak.

@NS_writings No need to put Ellipsis in spoiler tags as it is not the rumored title in question.

    Oh right, I see. thanks.

I wouldn't dismiss it entirely out of hand as a 'working title'. Something very similar happened with the new Avengers film title leaking on someone's online CV. There is still an outside chance that this is the title.

Plus...MI6 seem to be teasing something here:

I feel people need to drop this whole idea.
Whilst we know there was a casting call for a young person to play Lea Seydoux it was never confirmed as Bond 25. Plus, we have since heard that a British girl with Iranian heritage is playing the role.

    It's not a flashback.

Not that we know of. His character died, so it's very unlikely.

He might have left behind a series of videotapes

And of course she must be related to the Malik character, who's part egyptian. Maybe ties to Vespers boyfriend, who was algerian, IIRC?

Now that's a good theory. Well done. That could certainly work. The villian should certainly connect to vesper . Smart thinking there

Might as well call it 'Breaking Win Part II'

Where did this rumour for a possible title come from ?

It really is quite awful. Could have been
    ECLIPSED
at least. And that would have been ghastly as well. We know things are bad when a film title is even worst than the recent poor non Fleming fiction (Solo, Forever and a Day,...). I hope this is really just a working title.

That, Lea returning, those bland sets in Norway. It really doesn't excite me the very least. Although, to be fair, everything about SP excited me and then we know what happened.

So, I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised. Must say, they're making a stellar job on lowering my expectations. Thank you, EON.

    I'm quite the opposite.

Everything (so far) is exciting me. The locations, the director, the writer, the villain, the fact it's Craig's finale.

It almost feels like Eon have a fibre-optic cable to my mind's eye and are making this film for me.

    In terms of the title:
It is weak. I'll admit that. I didn't carefor 'Skyfall' at the time. It felt more appropriate to a computer game or something. But it's grown on me. Perhaps I'll feel the same later. So much is dependent on the actual poster and graphic art though. That could change a lot of minds.

I loved 'Spectre' as a title. Beyond it's obvious connections to the canon of Bond, it's just a seriously cool word.

In comparison, 'Eclipse' is a little meagre and uninspiring. It sounds more like a generic title for a sci-fi film. But once we have context it could make heaps of sense....who knows at this stage.

It's a cool-ish word, I guess- and I suppose from Eon's perspective, one-word titles are easier to market.

Can we get some people coming up with graphic designs for the title treatment? I wasn't overly convinced with the one a few pages back.

I know, right? Well, to be true, yes and no. I'm on the fence on this one, Nackers. Still love it that Fukunaga is directing and not Boyle. And that Matera locations seems interesting enough. Other than that, what do we really know that's exciting? And please, be free to sell me this one. I'd appreciate it. You know me, I've been positive all through this production. But, truth be told, it has not be as nice as other pre-productions have been, and it's wearing me down a bit. I do hope that'll change soon. We'll see.

Everything (so far) is exciting me. The locations, the director, the writer, the villain, the fact it's Craig's finale.

Locations - I'm hoping Fukunaga gives them his artistic touch. Yes, they do seem interesting on paper.

The director - yes, I'm a big Fukunaga fan.

The writer - which one? The script doctor? Yes, that one is ok. The other two, well, you know my opinion on them.

The villain - I'll be delighted if it's Malek. But is he? Do we have confirmation on this?

The fact that's Craig finale - well, Craig has become a bit of a yes and no for me. I was a big fan. Now, after SP, he'll have to won me over again.

I'm sure my feelings about Bond25 (I refuse to call it
    Eclipse
. What a piss poor title, if it's true) will change. And about the story, the brothergate opened a can of worms in my mind. They'll have to close it, with due diplomacy. We'll see.

What I love about most of the one-word titles in the series is that they are uniquely Bond. In no other realm do the words "Goldfinger," "Thunderball," "Moonraker," or "Skyfall" exist. If you Google those words, you'll find only 007.
Ca. 373.000.000 hits googling the new title.
    Ca. 16.800.000 hits googling Skyfall
    Ca. 3.250.000 hits googling Moonraker
    Ca. 2.820.000 hits googling Thunderball

My point exactly! Thanks for doing the research on that one. That's a very cool comparison!

If I'm honest I have nothing to offer which will cheer you up, and ( no offense) I'm not bothered either way.
Whatever is happening behind the scenes at Eon as they prepare this film interests me a little bit less than the colour paint my wife has chosen for the dining room. I have been a Bond fan for decades which means that back in the 70s the first I knew about a new Bond film was a cinema trailer a few weeks before the film release.

When the production book comes out I may buy it to see how the film took shape. Then again, I may not.

As for the actual film, well that bad boy will interest me. I'm excited that a film is coming. And Craig's performance as Bond is the main thing that will fascinate me. Nothing in my Bond world is more interesting than seeing how this incredible series shapes itself, alters and evolves, and how the actors interpret the role.

Tidbits about the possible title, who the cinematographer is, shots of random clapperboards, locations, plot points..nah! Not really interested. Not at this stage anyway.

Mine is a cursory glance at the latest rumour and a shrug of the shoulders. I'm looking forward to the press conference but I have no interest in wishing my life away waiting for it. It happens when it happens.

    In Barbara I trust.

Well, you've actually ended up doing a good job at putting me in touch with my own feelings. That's actually it. I just couldn't or didn't want to express it. But yes, that's about it. I grew up with Bond through those decades, and I remember buying imported cinema magazines to see the first official pictures. The main difference is that I have a constantly repressed notion that I don't really adore Daniel Craig as James Bond. But that is a different matter altogether. Now, if I trust Barbara or not, that, for me, is actually not important. It will be what it will be. And I'll appreciate it as cinema history and Bond fandom, that's for sure.

I like your idea. Good title.

I quite like this possible title, if true. Albeit it sounds more like a crime novel title (say from Deon Meyer) than a "completely" Bondian title.

Although I'm glad Boyle departed, the reasons he left are dispiriting. After all the misleading speculation about "political" issues, Boyle actually quit because Eon insisted that he use their screenwriters and not John Hodges. I'm presuming those unnamed writers he didn't want to use were Purvis & Wade.

I can't even imagine how the new director, Fukunaga, must feel interacting with that duo.

Purvis & Wade: "So we wrote a cameo for Jinx in Bond 25. She can reuse one of our old quips like, 'That's a mouthful.'"
Fukunaga: "Um, no, let's not bring Jinx back."
Purvis & Wade: "Okay. How about our scene where we reveal James Bond is a code name, kind of like 'The Phantom'--"
    Fukunaga: "No, thanks."
Purvis & Wade: "So we wrote this scene where Bond wears a pork pie hat--"
    Fukunaga: " . . . "
Barbara: "Aren't these two scribes just amazing?!"

@Strelik Yet Purvis and Wade wrote Casino Royale, the first third of which is all new material. They were removed from QoS due to Forster wanting to use Paul Haggis and as we know be never finished the script. So I wouldnt rag on them too much, theyre fine for story structure, ready for a new person to work off that.
