Finally! The DB5 seems like an obvious place to start. Would also be cool to see some Bond-themed Technic, a large Technic DB5 with working gadgets etc.

DB5 - boring. Corgi and Mendes have flogged that to the point I now despise it.

A 10,000 piece volcano set with rocket (containing captured space capsule), monorail, ninja & SPECTRE armies, Blofeld’s control room, a piranha tank and even a red ‘exshplodah button’ and then I am interested. Very interested.

Don’t just give us the tired and predictable DB5 for Christ’s sake. There are so many other good ones you could do:

    DN - Dragon tank.
FRWL - Maybe the gypsy camp?
GF - Laser room, Fort Knox.
TB - Disco Volante, underwater battle with atomic bombs on sleds and a few sharks.
    YOLT - Little Nellie.
OHMSS - Piz Gloria with rotating restaurant, Blofeld’s labs and escape tunnel and a bob run.
LALD - Bus and bridge, alligator farm, boat chase.
    TSWLM - Lotus, Liparus interior.
MR - Venice with Bondola and (double taking pigeon?), space station and shuttles.
FYEO - Err. 2CV? Ski jump?
OP - Acrostar, circus train with accompanying Merc on rails.
AVTAK - Mine, airship and top of GG bridge.
TLD - Volante, Hercules with cargo net.
    LTK - Seaplane, tankers.
GE - Tank and St Petersburg street, antenna.
    TND - Stealth boat.
TWINE - Q boat and cigar girl boat, submarine.
    DAD - Hovetcraft chase, Antonov.
CR - Construction site, airport set (complete with overflying 747), collapsing house.
QOS - Struggling a bit - rope fight?
SF - Digger on a train, crashing tube train.
    SP - Plane chase.

I’d genuinely shell out money for at least half of those but the DB5? Nah.

@TheWizardOfIce Bond is not kid-friendly enough so there probably won't be more Bond sets after this special one-off. And if they make only one Bond set, it pretty much has to be the Aston Martin DB5.

Well, somebody should have told that to all those toy factories who haved built and sold so many Bond toys during the last five decades (and more). Or to the french military theater in Berlin that showed Bond movies during the wednesday afternoon "kid's matinees".

He has a point, though. There are no doubt loads of kids that are interested in Bond, but not on the level that you’d find with Marvel or Star Wars. If it’s a choice between an Iron Man toy or a Scaramanga action figure, it’s a landslide in Marvel’s favour.

It was a thing in 60’s because it was the only series on that scale. Right now, there’s no market for rolling out substantial ancillary products, apart from one-offs (and higher-end merchandise) such as this.

The series would have to make a dramatic course correction and be open to rapid expansion before any of this stuff could be entertained. Even then, I’m one of those who believes it can’t and won’t happen.

What I don’t get is why with MGM’s issues they aren’t shelling out the liscences more often I just think they could recoup a ton of money by creating toys video games and LEGO sets for Bond Rocky etc

It’s Danjaq who hold the licenses. Through EON they are notoriously tight. A Bond licence is an expensive acquisition. Perhaps this Lego venture is a sign they’re now moving in a better direction and we may potentially get a video game tie-in at some point in the near future. I’m not holding my breath, however.

It would be kind of sad after such a long time without a new Bond game, that the next one would be a Lego game. But it's better then nothing.

I didn’t actually mean a Lego game, but of course that’s a possibility. To be honest it would be a clever way to market the series to younger kids. If it landed they’d have reason to expand a physical Lego offering - because the films alone aren’t capable of doing that Imo.

Yes but then if we start trying to aim at kids won’t that just lead to a sanitisation of the main product? Smoking is long gone, drink next, then sex, driving fast and killing bad bastards. Who wants to see a Bond film aimed at kids FFS?

Bond is for ‘warm blooded heterosexuals in trains, aeroplanes and beds’ can’t remember who said that? And whilst in these enlightened times I’m more than happy for homosexuals, trannies, non binaries at al to enjoy the series the general ethos should hold true.

I certainly don’t think it should be ‘aimed’ at kids.

The advantage of a Lego game is the value for money, they take time to finish, unlike a lot of the other popular games which you can knock off in a few sittings.

I haven't played any of the Lego games but they look very tongue-in-cheek, and a Bond game in that style would be a load of fun.

(I also haven't played with Lego since childhood, but I keep eyeing up their Sopwith Camel...)

Honestly I would rather have that than a game with the likes of GoldenEye Reloaded or 007 Legends.

Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones provided a lot of fun to me, so I would surely love a Lego Bond game.

Yes, the early Lego games were really brilliant. If Bond got one of those, that would be amazing.
