What are your Favorite covers of Bond related Music ?

#1.
The first piece I will mention is the hard rocking live version of <b>"The James Bond Theme" by Neil Norman and his Cosmic Orchestra</b>. The performance was recorded at the Hollywood House of Blues. I found it on a GNP/Crescendo CD release (GNPD 1414) titled "The James Bond Theme Triple Feature", released in 1998.

The second cover, that is a favorite of mine, is the Guns 'n' Roses live version of McCartney's "Live And Let Die".

It's a decent remake, nowhere in the same league as Sir Paul, but still quite good.
  • Another one for GN'R here. But then I guess it helps being a massive Guns N' Roses fan.

Although I like GNR, I think that the Neil Norman "James Bond Theme" from the House of Blues, beats any of the GNR / Richard Fortus performances of "The James Bond Theme".

I think no one has ever topped Roland Shaw. A friend of mine just uploaded it on request. Shaw did the best covers of the James Bond tracks/songs/instrumental versions.

Notoriously intense arrangement of John Barry's "Goldfinger" by Ferrante and Teicher.

Propellerhead's OHMSS re-do, there is nothing more brilliant.

Yes, Propellerheads did a brilliant version of OHMSS. The upbeats really inspired the Backseat Driver track.

Just heard Meg Mac's cover of NTTD on Triple J's Like A Version. Sounded great - lively and mid-tempo. Meg loves all the Bond themes, especially DAF and GF, and would love to perform an original theme.

My hearing is imperfect, and I've been told this isn't as good as I think it is, but I love it anyway!

I actually have a downloaded copy of this video in my Bond music collection. I really like her singing. Female singers are suited for this song. Q The Music Show also did a cover of WOTW with a female singer (their vocalist Kerry Schultz), but I prefer Connie Talbot's singing.

Lovely voice! Sounds better with a female singer.

Listening to the covers of the Connery era films and OHMSS, I am reminded what an experience going to a Bond film was in those early days. It's not that I don't like many later Bond films, but nothing since those early films has ever been the complete package. The exuberant F&T GF cover is a reminder that music back in the day heightened the anticipation and excitement. There have been many good songs since, but nothing gets the blood pumping like FRWL, GF, and TB openers. YKMN comes pretty darn close.

My favourite is this cover of NTTD (with a little Craig-era medley). The music is fantastic but add to that the insane production values, actually shooting in Matera it feels like it the DB5 chase could be happening just slightly to the left of it.
