The parenting thread

As I am a new dad since September, I thought about making this thread about parenting, a place to share experiences and advises and talk about all aspects of parenting, from all ages.

I have two sons. 3 years and 18 months. It's fun, I work alot and I'm barely able to see them with the exception of maybe an hour a night. Its funny watching one progress and then the other later on while remembering what the other had done.

Or absolutely terrifying. Depends on your perspective.

it's an amazing and terrifying experience.

Enjoy the ups of the development years, but, beware of the "push-back" years of teen-hood. It does and will happen.

I suggest getting a dog. Or two. They will fulfil the love that will become absent once the off-spring look at you as a relic.

However, it's only three (of the longest) years( of your life), and then they will return.

    I'm 43 and I have three teens.

Good luck and live by the moment!

That's because he's outnumbered. I have a son so the boys are a majority in the household.

I have two sons and a daughter. At different times I have wanted to strangle each and every one of them.
    Wouldn't be without 'em though.

I actually sang my son a few arias and he loved it. It was not as lullabies though.

Decide on a particuler set of rules for your kids and stick to them. Make sure they know through fear to never break them. And always let them watch R rated movies.

Just flew from Belfast - Birmingham for a wedding this weekend with my two. 22 months and 9 weeks. Really wasn't sure how it would go but baby had a bottle of milk on the plane and oldest had a fruit shoot. They were both very good I thought

I'm now sitting in the dark in the hotel waiting on the oldest to go to sleep. This may be harder than settling on a plane
