BOND POLLS 2017: The Big "SPECTRE" vs "QUANTUM OF SOLACE" Battle!

edited August 2017 in Bond Movies Posts: 11,119
It's such a simple topic really ;-). We're going to find out which of Craig's less critically acclaimed Bond films is the best of the bunch. So it's: "SPECTRE" vs. "Quantum Of Solace"! So which one is better? One vote per person please!

By the way, I did a similar poll in the 'James Bond Enthusiasts' Facebook Group, and here the results seem to be pretty clear so far:

80% (68 out of 85 votes) --> "SPECTRE"
20% (17 out of 85 votes) --> "Quantum Of Solace"

Spectre is Craigs best outing IMO.

Its not even a competition, spectre is lazily written and boring. Quantum of solace is high octane with a great story. Quantum by far

You and I have really very different ideas of what makes a James Bond movie.

Out of those two, SPECTRE is better.

SP by a huge margin. The two films are basically at opposite ends of my Bond rankings.

Though i love both, QOS gets better with every viewing, so it has to be it!

Define "better"... Ah well, SP wins anyway.

Didn't we have a FILM A vs FILM B thread? Because we're not going to have all those threads again, that's for sure.

Less critically acclaimed? QoS without question

    Quantum of Solace - easily.

    Spectre.

I'm not going with the "it gets better with every reviewing" argument. SP to me captures the essence of Bond much better than the Jason Bourne action porn from QOS.

I agree. Jason Bourne action porn even rhymes! The biggest problem with QOS is that the action is cut and edited to death, to the point where it's unenjoyable and every scene incomprehensible. I heard somewhere that the average time per shot in QOS is two seconds. Ridiculous. I often wonder what a re-edit could do for the film.

I think this particular battle/comparison deserves its own topic tbh. There has been some fierce discussion going on about which of these two Craig-films is actually better. RottenTomatoes and IMDB can't agree so far. In the Facebook Group 'Bond Fan Enthusiasts' it does seem that the less critical Bond fan voted massively for SP.

We've had these little topics before, and it seldom goes sunnily. I'm gobsmacked we've had such a quiet bit of voting so far. I say we count our blessings, get the votes tallied and move on, as this discussion has rather worn itself out.

Shouldn't we have a post showing which film actually has more votes so far,or are we just going to randomly shout out a films name with no objective ?

Spectre is head and shoulders above the mess that is QoS.

Wouldn't a poll option be best for this? (because I want to see Spectre win, because I love it when common sense prevails).

Following a debate about QOS on another thread I can't get on board this revisionist bandwagon that has been gathering pace that it's actually a misunderstood classic.

It's horribly flawed, as is SP, but SP at least feels like a Bond film.

It's quite close and QOS has indeed got better with age (and a smaller screen) but I'm going to have to side with SP on this occasion stepbrother, Newman and all.

I guess it doesnt help that I think that with the production level, story, pace, and action that comes with quantum- its one of my favorite films of all time while spectre is a big long drag

Two favorites of mine, #1 and #8 actually in my ranking.

    QoS wins.
