They have something similar at CommanderBond.net.

And AJB, but at least they are funny with their censorship of objectionable words with lovely worded euphemisms.

Welcome to all our new Bond fans here. Shame to see what's happening as far as IMDb goes.
Thanks, but with all due respect, one thing we are not is "new" Bond fans...

My mistake. I did not mean new to the fandom but new to the forum.

.......what am I missing with this thread?!?
IMDB has shut down its message boards, so many posters from there are migrating over to MI6 Community.

Thanks and thanks MajorDSmythe for the answers.

I had no idea. But then again..I had no idea why so many people used the IMDb forums :D :-)) I always found them to be weird to follow.

That always seemed to be the result of a lack of moderating. Hell, most of the threads for any given forum were people asking the same question/making the same statement over and over again. It wasn't organized or clean in the slightest.

Got a good feeling about this.

Welcome new members! This, IMO is really the best forum for Bond chats and discussions. There's something for every Bond fan here.
I'm not exactly understanding just why imdb chose to shut down their forums. Much of the fun of clicking on that site was to see the various topics. I can only imagine imdb will only get less views now.
    Anyway- welcome to MI6.

    Good to see you, @RichardTheBruce

I don't know if you remember me, but I did frequent the IMDb boards until I found this forum a few years ago. A much better place. I imagine you will fit right in.

Old sailors' survival principle. Always stay on board until jumping becomes unavoidable.

Yes, you can never leave this island alive. Forgot to mention that! Can't imagine why?!

Well, maybe if you toss chicken breasts at them and then jump across their backs to dry land.

We'll chain them down first though...to make escape that little bit easier. Every little helps.

For me, it's the result of trying out the IMDb message boards leading CASINO ROYALE. I took to the board posters at the time, they were great, we endured tougher times as the trolls took over each October-November leading into a Bond film release, then patiently resumed control. So based on familiarity and friendship I think we dug in.

Over time we transitioned from occupying the latest or next Bond film board to the actual James Bond Board IMDb established--I originally didn't like the idea, but it was a natural progression and big success. As it stands today, the JB Board gets about 8-10 times the number of posts that Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars boards get. So I think there's something special going on there.

And there are a couple obvious differences from MI6. It's smaller, much more manageable for getting started and keeping up on developments. It can also be more fast-moving on certain items, there was some uniqueness to it along with shared types of activity.

So familiarity, shared experiences, resistance to change, friendships. That's some of it.

I'm sure the transition will be one that is not easy for all. Back in 2011 when Mi6 went through a transitional phase there were members who found it hard, and sadly moved on to other pastures.
Change is always something hard to accept, but sometimes we encounter it.
I'm sure given a little time you'll all find your feet here, and I'm sure I'm not alone in being happy to see the influx of new members, and the potential discussion we can all have.
We all have a like minded interest in James Bond, I'm sure we can find something for all.

Welcome to the MI6 forums to all IMDB Bond fans.

I was a long time member as well, Boromir007, who became less active during the last couple of years.

Any ideas why it's being shut down?
