Which countries have produced the best Bond girls?

  • I've stretched the rules a bit for my list. Not all of these women were necessarily good in their Bond role, but nevertheless I still think they're very sexy.

    Ukraine (Olga Kurylenko)
    France (Eva Green, Sophie Marceau)
U.K. (Jane Seymour, Honor Blackman, Kara Milovy, Gemma Arterton, Rosamund Pike)
Italy (Daniela Bianchi, Caterina Murino, Maria Grazia Cucinotta
USA (Carey Lowell, Talisa Soto, Teri Hatcher-she was the Lois Lane I grew up with. ;) )

    Sweden, hands down.
  • Speaking of Sweden, I'd like to put my 'hands down' Britt Ekland

Well I mean as she was in back in 1974, not sure about now :-S

Hasn't nobody mentioned Michelle Yeoh, she's to this day a fine looking woman and Malaysia hasn't had a mention thus far I don't think

I think Claudia Schiffer could of made an appearance somewhere down the line, there's been little in the way of German ladies present with 007 and I think she could of been a tangible 007 girl in one of the movies at some point

Absolutely agree - out Germanic cousins have been unfairly sidelined in the Bond girl stakes. I'm all up for a spot of Diane Kruger, for instance.

Easy decision for me, it has to be France. The two in bold are two of my very favourites.

    Claudine Auger
    Corinne Clery
    Carole Bouquet
    Sophie Marceau
    Eva Green
    Bérénice Marlohe

    Italy wins the silver medal.
  • Clery gets unfairly slated by some as I think she's the best looking thing in Moonraker, Emily Bolton comes close with the dour Chiles some way behind. Auger is a fine, or was, a fine looking woman in Thunderball but Volpe will always be my most favorite in that release.

Easily. And one of the best in the series for me. Very underrated, although I seem to remember on the old forum her triumphantly coming second or third in the over all Bond girl tournament, so she's still got some fans around these parts.
Emily Bolton comes close with the dour Chiles some way behind.

Could have happily had more screen time with her too. She's another underrated one. And probably takes the top spot for 'quickest time Bond takes to undress a lady'! An achievement in a 50 year series. For several reasons, I think MR takes its biggest nose dive after her scenes.
Auger is a fine, or was, a fine looking woman in Thunderball but Volpe will always be my most favorite in that release.

Both are top-notch ladies, Auger is my very favourite in the series. TB wins best looking Bond girls in any one film for me.

  • And the poor woman gets killed off by being mauled to death by Drax's Dobermans of all things, although we don't get to see it on screen. Thunderball indeed has a bevy of beauties for some but I only focus on Paluzzi whenever I get a chance to see it. Some would argue Octopussy had the best women, Maud Adams was well, you wouldn't kick her out of bed, and there was Kristina Wayborn and all those lovelies on the Octopussy Island too for good measure, Moore must have been like a cat that got the cream

I like to think they just jumped on her and gave her a good old lick. Can't blame 'em.

I understand. Its scenes like her with Derval in bed, her in the bath and with that towel around her which easily do it. But I also find Domino looks stunning in everything she wears. And love her swimming costumes (both ocean and swimming pool version). Probably pretty risque in those days.

Domino and Corrine were both dubbed, like many others, by the same lady (such a sexy voice) so maybe that also explains something too for me.

I would of liked to have jumped on Volpe and given her a good old lick and by god, I wouldn't have blamed myself

Guess Ms Paluzzi will have to go :(

Got it off Photobucket, thought it would be safe enough ?

Just had to check who these two were. You're obviously having a laugh with Ilse.

So, doing a quick straw poll, France wins, Italy second and England third.

May be I should add a poll.

I'd like to see Penelope Cruz in Bond some day, put Spain on the map etc, I think she could work in that capacity, same as with Samantha Mumba (Eire), I think a part as Bond girls could well work if they were given the chance

    How about this!

Indeed, France is #1 for me, followed by Italy.

Oh, American girls, we have not had the greatest number of wonderful, memorable Bond girls. But Carey did shine, didn't she?

I think Penelope would be wonderful in a Bond film; just think this is a rumor, though.

France. Just Google "french actress" and look at the images. They're all Bond girls.

This is major hair splitting, but if I must split, I like the sassy, even cheesy, American girls.

    1. Jill St. John
    2. Denise Richards
    3. Tanya Roberts
    4. Lana Wood
    5. Talisa Soto
    6. Lois Chiles
    7. Teri Hatcher
    8. Carey Lowell
    9. Halle Berry

DAF and LTK boast the best 1-2 American girls punch!

Well, timmer, I am looking at your list ... then I look at the thread's title ... then I look at your list and ... I am just kind of shaking my head.

But, of course, to each his own - and I don't even count my opinion as the same as any guys when it comes to ranking Bond girls. ;;)

    France, easily.

:)) It's not an easy list to put together. I do struggle with whose more appealing, Richards or Roberts.
Richards wins out though. She's a tad sassier, and does flash Brozzer some very coy looks. But Roberts prancing around in her next-to-nothings, the morning after not sleeping with Bond, all the while prattling on about geology, is tough to beat too.
And Rog and Tanya manage to play the whole scene straight. Great stuff. Camp works best without any wink-wink.
#1 is a slam dunk though. The scene where she first meets Bond, is best Bond-girl scene ever, IMHO of course. The banter, combined with, St. John's fetching "costume" changes and Barry's tinkling ivories setting the mood, is smooth smooth smooth.
And as bonus, the scene is loosely derived from the Bond-meets-Tiffany scene in the Fleming book.
"Keep honking on that tooter Charlie" is pretty good too, although I don't believe its taken from Fleming. ;)
