Name for a Bond-Themed Restaurant

edited December 2016 in Bond Movies Posts: 2,483
I've long dabbled in the restaurant business, and last night, while dining out, it occurred to me that a restaurant attempting to capture the spirit or the "feel" of the world of James Bond could be an interesting project. Its decor would be painfully tasteful yet also decidedly masculine. A strict dress code would be enforced, and tuxedos--natch--would be encouraged. The bar would be stocked with the grandest collection of vodkas, gins and vermouths to be found anywhere, and the barkeeps would either be extremely skilled in mixing martinis or they would be unemployed. The ambient music would lean toward jazz with plenty of American songbook tunes (Sinatra, Dino, Bing, Julie London, etc.) also on the playlist. The menu would feature the finest examples of dishes appearing in Fleming's Bond novels, as well as other dishes from the Western culinary tradition.

I've got it all figured out. All except for one thing...the name of the joint.

Keeping in mind that DanJaq, Eon, Micolli, etc. would come down on me like a load of bricks if I attempted an explicitly Bondian name (The 007 Grille, Cafe Bond, The SPECTRE House, etc.), what names would you nominate? I'll be interested to see what you come up with.

Well that would make the marketing team's job terribly easy:

"For a good time, eat [company name here]!"

Sounds like a good name for a pub, rather in the vein of "The Slaughtered Lamb."

Spoonraker would be especially apt for a fancy soup kitchen. And I do love a tasty soup.

Heh. Something tells me that might violate a few public decency codes.

From Italy with Love is a truly excellent idea. So much so that I wouldn't be surprised if such a resto already exists.

Glory Fried Ham and Eggs was an actual resto in New York, just as Bill's at the Beach was a real Florida restaurant that Fleming renamed for Goldfinger. It still exists, BTW.

I like this. Short, sweet and a touch mysterious for those who don't get the Bond connection.

Sounds dangerous. All waiters would wear Kevlar and tote Walthers for self defense and to shoot the tops off of champagne bottles.
    The stuffed sheep's head.

Well this is the helluva coincidence. Only a few days ago I purchased An American Werewolf in London and watched it this past Friday night. Jenny Agutter--she certainly gets the ol' digestive juices a-flowin'. She might have made a good Moneypenny.
    Hai Fat, low prices.

Heh. We're not talkin' about some discount joint, Thunderpussy!
    Spectre

and it already exists in London, by the way.

Owned by Christoph Waltz, no doubt...

Mod edit: 9 posts in a row is taking our "no double posts" rule for a real challenge, PK. ;-) Anyway, I merged them into one. The Edit button still functions.
