    Length of ending credits?

And we have a winner! I figured the ranking would turn out more or less chronological, but was interested to see where things would deviate and where the major changes in length would be. Over to you for the next round, @Birdleson.

Here are the timings for the end credits, by the way. I clocked them according to when the first credit is seen and when the last credit (usually the final appearance of the film and company names) fades out, as opposed to, say, how long the music runs for. I did not include gunbarrels if those appeared at the end of the film, however I did start from "James Bond Will Return" if that was the first thing to show up, as with TWINE and Skyfall, and Cubby's "In Memory" credit for Tomorrow Never Dies.

    1. SP: 6:45
    2. SF: 5:08
    3. QoS: 4:08
    4. DAD: 3:59 (TIE)
    4. CR: 3:59 (TIE)
    6. TWINE: 3:51
    7. TND: 3:44
    8. GE: 3:14
    9. OP: 2:39
    10. LTK: 2:31
    11. TLD: 2:26
    12. AVTAK: 2:25
    13. FYEO: 2:20
    14. MR: 2:12
    15. YOLT: 1:35
    16. TSWLM: 1:33
    17. DAF: 1:10 (TIE)
    17. L&LD: 1:10 (TIE)
    19. TMWTGG: 0:57
    20. GF: 0:53
    21. OHMSS: 0:51
    22. FRWL: 0:40
    23. TB: 0:34
    24. DN: 0:27

One interesting point that comes out of this, discounting credits, OHMSS is the longest Bond film.

    Yes, I noticed that, too!

(Spectre might actually still have it beat by a matter of seconds, but the gap is indeed much narrower than perhaps was previously assumed.)

Edit: The real answer just came to me. Good one. I'll PM you and let someone else figure it out and have the next round though.
  • Okey doke: Bond actors by age. OHMSS and AVTAK at polar opposites was what led me there. I'll start thinking of a new one.

(And @IncompetentHenchman, if you would like to have a go now for your first win, by all means have at.)

Number of boats in the movie?
  • Looks like we're back-n'-forthing here, @Birdleson, you've got it again!

There were a few instances where the age difference varied by mere months and even one case (DAD/YOLT) by just a few days. I used Berenice Marlohe for Skyfall as she generally seems to be regarded as the principle Bond girl for that film (Naomi Harris would have dropped Skyfall three places in the ranking, and Judi Dench six, all the way to the bottom).

    1. For Your Eyes Only +30
    2. A View to a Kill +28
    3. Live and Let Die +24
    4. The Spy Who Loved Me +20
    5. Moonraker +20
    6. The World Is Not Enough +18
    7. Octopussy +18
    8. Spectre +17
    9. GoldenEye +17
    10. Licence to Kill +15
    11. The Man with the Golden Gun +15
    12. The Living Daylights +14
    13. Die Another Day +13
    14. You Only Live Twice +13
    15. Casino Royale +12
    16. From Russia With Love +12
    17. Quantum of Solace +11
    18. Skyfall +11
    19. Thunderball +11
    20. Diamonds Are Forever +10
    21. Tomorrow Never Dies +9
    22. Dr. No +6
    23. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service -1
    24. Goldfinger -5

    Once again, over to you.
  • Ah, yes, it was specifically years older than the Bond girl the Bond actor was, but I didn't think it necessary to make you dot the 'i.' ;)

And you'd think Drax's plan to destroy all of mankind with toxic gases would top overpricing water or bumping off an old lady. ;)

No the Ranking is from lowest to highest. Of cause controlling water supply is bigger than Drax's plan.

The Time before we hear the villain's voice ??
  • Hmm. Well I always just figured the QoS gunbarrel was the briefest because of how quickly Craig walks, but maybe not.

    Length of gunbarrel?
